    DIY Bead Blasting

Hi has anyone done Bead blasting themselves

Im loving the look of some of these mods and fancy having a go at bead blasting myself

I dont want to do other stuff apart from watches straps etc

If so what would i require to do it myself?

    Thanks

For a start you'll need an air compressor, a blast cabinet and some glass beads. Even contained in a cabinet it'll still be a dusty job so somewhere to set up would be advisable.

You'll need to be able to disassemble the watch so tools will be required and you'd probably want to pre clean/degrease and also post clean.

That could be enough to get you going.

Make sure you fit a water trap / drier to the compressor or you get clogs with the beads. There are small cabinets available in places like Machine Mart at a reasonable cost.

You could get the same result (better IMHO) by using a vibratory tumbler. Plenty of info on Google and how to make your own, even vids on YouTube.
