    Woo Hoo

Picked up my new white faced Daytona today and it's safe to say it lives up to the hype.

Absolutely beautiful watch and I'm so glad I put my name down when I did as when speaking with the AD she told me there were 90 people on their list and it was now closed.

I'm posting here because my Mrs my family and my mates really couldn't care less so I'm hoping some of you guys might

    The obligatory wrist shot

The white dial is rather nice - don't forget to take the stickers off!

I prefer the White dial to the black and also agree, get those stickers off or people will suspect something !!

    Lovely watch - enjoy.

A suspicious bunch on here aren't you haha

Don't fret that pic was taken in the shop. The stickers will be removed pronto and don't worry, I've another 150 posts to make before it appears on SC

    Thanks for the kind words

If you knew what it had taken for me to raise the funds to buy this watch then you'd know there's no way it would be getting sold for a couple of G's profit.

I've waited a very long time for this watch and there is no chance of it leaving my possession ever, there's more to life than a quick profit.

To be fair all the new Daytonas end up with watch finder it would not sell on here they would begrudge to pay the premium

I can sort of understand the view of the 'older' members thinking these newbies are only here to hawk their wares and abuse the good nature of the forum, but it is a bit off putting to us new folks where you think you have found a place that understands your silly obsession with spending too much of your money on outdated technology, only to find that you are met with hostility and suspicion because you just happen to be in the right place at the right time and wanted to share your good fortune.

I'll wait until I have 1000 posts plus until I post any more pics, just incase I get accused of serupticiously trying to sell instead of share

Not having a go at you in any way, but please use your imagination. If you post an image of a highly desirable watch with the stickers still on, is it not possible that someone who has been told they have to join a three year waiting list and they are willing to pay a premium to get one may send you a PM asking you if you are interested in selling.

That is why we were joking about getting the stickers off before people think you are trying to sell it.

I appreciate your replies were tongue in cheek and I apologise if I went off on a tangent.

How about I do a de stickering video, would that be suitable?

Thanks for this - much appreciated. I hope you appreciate the scepticism that can exist in forums like these. A few weeks ago a long standing member of the Rolex forum posted details of his new watch (which was a ceramic Daytona) on there and shortly after joined this forum doing much the same thing. It turned out the watch was already listed for sale at double RRP and it appears that he was promptly banned from the Rolex forum for using the threads to promote a profiteering sale.

No need for a video. I own an Omega Snoopy, a watch that is currently subject to a similar feeding frenzy. Unfortunately I didn't buy from an AD - so I do have an appreciation of those who are willing to pay a premium to secure a desirable watch.

    TBF I'm feeling a bit gutted that I haven't received any pm's

And Ken, yep totally see your point, in fact I should have expected it really as I own a forum of my own and it can be much the same when it comes to newbies only joining to sell their junk

As mentioned I think most know the best price will probably be at Watchfinder.

Back on topic - congratulations! Seems as if you will appreciate the early chance of owning this watch, so enjoy it!

I guess with 90 on the list there's no recession in Lancashire.

    Stunning watch, congrats.

Congratulations on your new watch. Not that I'd buy one, but it is a beautiful thing.

You have to take some of the sarcastic b*rst*rds here with a pinch of salt. Their sacasm and mean spirit is probably caused by their inability to afford one for themselves

Was it from Whittles in Preston? I was in on Saturday and the chap mentioned he had one waiting for collection?

Well done and admire your patience, not a Rolex person but do admire a stunner when I see one.

    Stunning watch, congrats.
A waiting list with 90 on it for one shop? Crickey those marketing boys at Rolex must be doing a lot of back slapping and congratulating one another. It really is an amazing brand to get this much attention / demand for a watch

Back on topic - again congrats on a lovely watch

To be honest I'm a bit of a sarcastic bar steward myself so I really shouldn't have reacted so quickly. I blame the long day and jet lag from my holiday

Well, it was a salesperson who told me & we all know they always speak the truth!!!

She also told me it was the first they had received yet also told me when I rang up to put myself on the list that the 'big hitters' would get first refusal. So make of that what you will as I am no big hitter by a long chalk

How early did you manage to get on the dealers waiting list? It is interesting to see that some of these early watches have not gone to the "regular customers".

Congratulations mate. I tried both the white dial and black dial yesterday at the dealership. Must say I preferred the white one. Put my name down and am number 17 on list. So will be waiting for a while.....
