I had this baby custom made from a fellow forumer (Adi) - this is the 4th strap he has made for me and honestly his work has been amazing:

Another strap bought from Adi (adirian) on this forum. Decided to try it out on a Moonwatch and must admit, I quite like it.

noticed a few people mention that members of the forum do custom straps.

Do they have websites or advertise on sales corner? Or is it a case of just contacting them direct?

Not looking for anything specific at the moment but keen to have a look if they do.

    The biggest ones are probably:
    -Cammile Fournet
    -Jean Riseau
    -ABP Paris

Not sure any forum members have sights I know of...

.. for any of the smaller individuals doing their own bespoke - etsy is a good place to look. Searching etsy it can help to have an idea of what you want it made of (e.g. I found that the horween tannery does a wide range that is amenable to making straps out of) and use that to search specifically ..

There are also a few members here who don't sell but do leatherwork incl. straps as a hobby - search this sub forum further and you'll get the idea. Well worth persevering at

So, finally found some Chicago screws to make a strap for my PRS-53. A little on the big side but still better that nothing.
    What do you gentlemen think?

nice work - those screw heads look a little large - the one I hacked together was with 8mm heads (on a 29a):

... that thread has plenty more fun reading on screw types ;-)

Great aged style leather you’ve used that looks a nice match..

Thought that a strap from Carl, Gasgasbones, would complement my PRS-30. Very happy with the strap.

Just a quick query. Is it ok to import an alligator strap from the US into the UK? I’ve read some people have had problems importing them into the US from Europe.

Customs will check it here: https://www.cites.org/ Maybe Customs has a list online as well. Check that.

You'd need a CITES permit to do this legally Louisiana Alligator is a Cites Annex II species, so it has to have a permit. The seller of the strap would have to apply for a permit in your name from US Fish and Wildlife. Its possible but expensive and very bureaucratic. I think its unlikely anyone will be prepared to do it for one strap without lots of money changing hands. Much easier to buy a strap in Europe if you want the paperwork to be OK. Of course the parcel might not be stopped in customs, but it'll either be lots of money in charges or destroyed if it is stopped. Its equally bad sending stuff to the States

    Hi,
I am new to the forum,
I can't wear leather and am trying to find some decent alternatives that aren't NATO straps.
    Any pointers would be appreciated

This thread inspired me! I'd like to make something like that by myself. I can't imagine what do I need for that work, but I believe, I will get some advice.

If you want Italian hand made try vintage style straps.

Matteo has just knocked this up for me.

I suspect that buckles are available only in ss, but they are very good quality waffle straps.

Arrived today and put it on.
It looks good, it feels a bit plastic and is thinner and lighter than expected, but I think it wears comfortable.
Its sits into the tuna case nicely.
    Very happy with it

Not sure how known he is on here. However I found Heritageleather straps on Facebook. After an hour of messaging last week and looking at different leathers in the colour range I was looking for, this is what he produced . All for a little under 100 euros delivered to UK by DHL.

Just had pynchon63 who's on eBay make me a leather strap. I found him recommended on here somewhere but couldn't find the post to quote it.
His number and email is in his profile if anyone is interested.

Seriously cheap and made to my specifications. I'm very impressed with the quality. I know it's just a common looking strap but I couldn't find one that would be thick but also slip through the clasp end at 3mm so I sent him the clasp and the result is exactly what I wanted.
All hand made including hand stitched.

    Looking for recommendations/suggestions.

The Seiko Boutique kindly sent me a pin buckle for my Grand Seiko SBGA293G

So, looking to try a different colour strap, initially thinking Burgundy, though happily open to other colour suggestions.

Could members please offer advice :-)

Pav straps gets my vote, the 2 I have from him are amongst the nicest I own. Alternatively Camille-Fournet are well worth the money, they are OEM vendors for JLC.

I'd go with a royal blue with navy stitch to make the cream of the dial & the high polish of the hands pop.

Alternatively a light grey with either ivory or dark grey stitching.
