    Re: Custom-made watch straps

    Very interesting thread

Amazing how a strap can change the look of a watch so much, this is something I would love to have a go at, very inspiring

I'm waiting on a gasgasbones.com BRV1. Carl is making it for for me this weekend and should be with me on Tuesday, I can't wait! Carl is a great guy to deal with. Even though his site is kinda down for maintenance, he is still taking orders.

delaurian straps are highly sought after by panerai owners. He makes amazing straps but demand is high. I know my friend bought one but he had to send numerous emails before he received a response. He eventually ordered the strap, waited about 5 weeks but it was worth it. I should also say that his straps are not cheap

I have a Delaurian strap and the quality is excellent.

Those of you who own/have handled a Dreadnought will appreciate the thickness of this strap, yet it is both supple and comfortable:

He's quite a character too.

    Re: Custom-made watch straps

@ tintinoman, I've seen your straps on another forum I think, I really like them! keep up the good work, I think the next thing for me to do is start making my own straps.

I've got a couple of straps that people on other forums have made for me and I'm very happy with the quality, but I think making one myself would give the watch a much more personal connection. I will try to dig out some photos and get them online!

also @ralphy what is that watch, it looks amazing! (sorry if I shouldn't ask that here)

    Re: Custom-made watch straps

I'm glad you guys seem to have had a good experience with ABP. I ordered a strap from them for my Pam 250. It arrived a fortnight late, was the wrong size and they forgot to put my initials on it as specified. Were it not for the fact it was the correct colour & inner material I'd have been convinced they sent the wrong strap.

Fortunately many other great makers out there so I'll not personally miss these cats.

    Hi,

I had a very good experience with strap maker Arron from custom-straps.com, I was recommended him from a fellow user on Pistonheads. You can see my custom Ostrich Skin Strap currently on my UX gsg9.

Also have a 2nd hand Toshi which is superb.

    Yeah, great quality and service.

Can you share something about the device to wear your pocket watches on your wrist? Looks amazingly cute, and I have couple of 51--57 mm pocket watches who will sit nicely in such a cradle.

You may opt to pm, not to spam this thread, thank you!

    Re: Custom-made watch straps

Recently I made first strap in my life and did it for my father watch. Strap is 24mm 160/100mm and I used a belt from H&M as a leather source.

I've not seen one in that size; the Omega that this fits is only about 36mm. There is a chap on MWR who makes something else that may be of interest.

Does anyone know the lug width of the JLC Master Chrono? It's been beyond hard to find out if it's 21mm or 20mm. I'm thinking of getting a custom strap for mine.

    It's 21/18 mm

Very tricky size for off the shelf straps. Nearly all go up in 2mm increments

Been there. Shop is small, more like a boutique. You can pick up the colour and alligator is for 175. Any customization is an extra charge, varying from 10 to 30.
They are flexible and if they don't have something in store, they will contact their warehouse in France.

Chunky hard leather is very ideal with the likes of Panenai having a screw pin instead of a spring bars... I wonder if custom made strap can also have an easy access for the spring bars like most of the OEM strap?

Seeing as this is the bespoke / custom watch strap sticky I thought I'd add my latest in here so it is here and easy find:

Made by inrolondon at www.inrolondon.com a small artisanal leather company making one off, unique leather goods (including straps). I am really chuffed with my strap, the quality speaks for itself.

I wrote a review which you can find here:

    http://thelearnedgentleman.com/bespo...s-inro-london/

ps - not associated in any way - just a pleased customer :)

I've tried a search so apologies if i've missed something but i believe i've finally found someone who will provide the links required to fit a nato or other standard strap to my Oris tt1. He goes by the name of drtalon on WUS , think his name is Walter and was wondering if anyone has had any dealings with him and the outcome.
I understand it may look a bit off using this facility to enquire about someone on another but i have tried pretty much everywhere .
