Thread: Custom-made watch straps

  1. #201
Have bought many various handmade straps over the years.
Heritageleather straps (facebook) is now my go to man . Not only for quality but value too. He also uses many different skins and leathers.
Here are 5 of the six I've purchased this year.

I have just ordered this strap to try on my GS
    goatskin-taupe

Will replace the pin buckle with the GS one, that the Boutique gave me.

If you are not on Facebook, is there any other way to contact them?

What are the costs and delivery time?

    Many thanks

    Tony

I will ask him. Costs for post are included in his costs. He also is happy to use Transferwise which reduces the sending of money abroad costscand pretty good exchange rate. Saved me quite a few quid.

Just going by his FB photos, they look as good as I've ever seen. What are prices like? If you'd rather not share the cost of yours then which bracket are they in please?

    £50 - £100
    £101 - £150
    £151 - £200
    £200+

    Cheers.

And much better than the £470 OEM straps I've purchased in the past. Lessons learnt there.

Does anyone know anywhere doing 24mm Tropic style straps?
    Can't seem to find any.
Alternative is maybe Sailcloth but any 24mm have the wrong buckle hole - Need a wide one unfortunately.

Not the best shots but you get the idea. I think it's transformed it to a much more expensive looking watch. Not that it was cheap mind you.

From Heritage Leather Straps as recommended on here. Thanks.

It's a 1956 Baume and Mercier. I'll try to take better pics in natural light at some point.

I've been buying heritageleather straps for coming upto a year and have that same leather . Photos just don't capture the quality.

I used the Strap Tailor recently and can't fault the workmanship or customer service.

Red face Heuerville custom leather Rally straps?

As made by Stewart Morley. Normally a 2 to 3 month lead time.

What's the general consensus on quality of the Rally custom leather straps? :)

Green Buttero w/ cream stitch made by David Richards. Fabulous quality and, as I’d hoped, perfect for the 4512 with its classic taper and rise but contemporary touches. And £78 in his sale too!

    Heritageleather straps

Has anyone dealt with Heritage Leather in the last couple of weeks or so? I've been waiting on a delivery from him and he's stopped responding to messages. It may be that's he's away from the business on holiday for a while, but I just thought I'd ask here in case others were dealing with his currently and had the same experience.

Has anyone tried Finstraps? Very hard to establish the quality from images. Some look very good, others quite rough and ready.

Just been looking and the website & FB pages are down...?

Is there a list of UK watch strap makes about?
I'm looking for a thinnish burgundy saffiano ideally (for a small gold dress watch). The Strap Tailor has an Epsom which would work but interested in alternatives.
Steviostraps & Toshi don't seem to have that sort of leather.

Yes, unfortunately mine never arrived and then he stopped replying to my messages. No refund was ever received despite numerous chasers.

Does indeed look like one of the best MN clones but when I checked, sadly no 23mm or bronze hardware so I had to pass on one for the Tudor BBB.

These are done properly but there are some quite ropey MN copies around, the CNS watch band ones for example are made back to front which means they can’t be worn with the strap properly looped - the clasp goes to the wrong place. When mine arrived I queried this but was met with silence. So they know full well, probably explains their very hefty discounts, getting rid …

23mm is an odd lug width.
    Great watch though.

And looks good on MN ... you can get away with 24mm which is helpful, so long as bronze hardware is available (though with this watch the more aluminium-heavy yellowy type of bronze - not too far away from brass, though not quite as yellow or anything like as quickly tarnished - works better than the dark, copper rich type).

I've just ordered an alligator strap for my 'Hulk' from Liger Straps as I liked the look of the curved ends and just suddenly got the urge to try something different. Anyone else used them? I'll post up a photo once it's arrived.

I don't see any mention of CITES on the website so might be worth asking them about it. It's probably low likelihood that it will be intercepted but one should at least perhaps prepare yourself for the possibility.
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

Thank you, I hadn't even considered that. I've emailed to ask about it.
