    Odd watch review: Garmin Vivoactive

Just bought on SC off Andy Armitage ( for a bargain 75 squid).

Its amazing, it's what the Apple Watch should have been.

Light weight, enough functions ( call, txt, emails alerts etc).

And And, it's got GPS and is can be used for swimming. It's replaced the SD for the last 12 hours. Been for a run and a swim with no phone and it's does its thing and syncs as I get back into range of the iPhone.

Doesn't look sexy but does what it's supposed to.

WIS have watches for the watch sake, because they look beautiful and have amazing engineering, this watch is no Rolex but does the job. Cheaply.

Sorry for gushing but dead impressed for price and function. Nearly didn't post this as I sound like a fan boy but this is truly great for next to nothing.

    Mike

These are brilliant I sold my apple watch several times and went back to this. Battery life is amazing and like you said having real GPS is fantastic. It just works, tried the Fitbit blaze but the requirement for phone is annoying.

I've had one for almost a year and love it albeit I might upgrade to the new HR version.

If you don't need the depth of the Fenix it's the next best thing.

Aside from the functionality on offer which is perfect for me as someone who tries to keep vaguely fit via a combination mainly of running and cycling with a bit of swimming here and there, the things I like a lot are the battery life and the colour screen, which although not as a vibrant as an Apple Watch benefits from a) being on all the time and b) being more vivid in bright light so you can actually read it when out in the sun.

I quite like the smart watch stuff too, just enough to be useful.

At the price these things go used for now they are an absolute bargain.
