    Chronos disc

I like the functionality of a smart watch, but much prefer the look and heritage of my proper watches. This would seem like an ideal solution?

Thoughts? I would fit to my 16570 and Black Monster.

Seems a good solution and would mean you could change your watch whilst still retaining the smart element.
My concerns with this would be two fold, firstly, the paltry WR would mean removing that part of the watch when you swim which leads onto the second concern; when fitted, it will make the watch head thicker. If you wear your timepiece on a metal bracelet I imagine this will need readjusting.

Good idea in concept. If something could be made into a buckle that might work. Either that or a decent watch with a Breitling Cockpit module style part of the bracelet.

I think we discussed this a while ago and decided it was the worst idea in the history of pretty bad ideas.

I did look, couldn't find anything using the search function.

As the risk of repetition, what were the key points of dislike?

I was also looking at this as I am never going to wear a smart watch, but I like the idea of swapping this around the collection .

Royal "we", was it? Good thing I don't do groupthink :)

It's somewhat imperfect - there's no display, which is pretty much the unifying characteristic of smartwatches - but as a discreet (expensive) alert function it's interesting. The hand movement required to make it operate the phone might look weird.
...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!

Here we go: Chronos - add fitness tracking and notifications to any watch

    My reservations would be:

    1. Adds 3mm thickness to any watch

    2. Not convinced about whether you can swap it between watches daily

    3. Not actually a smartwatch

    4. Doesn't actually exist yet

Pfft, you and your teeny weeny trivialities...

To me the idea is....not awful. I don't however own any watches that I think "This watch is close to perfect - if only it was 3mm thicker, a bit more expensive and I had to charge it all the time"

I've got a Xiaomi S1 that I wear on my right wrist and wear whatever watch I fancy on the left as usual.

Works for me, all the smart tech is linked to my phone for display, but it keeps track of my heart rate and exercise even when the phone's not around.

Needs charging about twice in 3 months.

Only downside is that it's not waterproof so comes off for swimming/diving, but for £15 (or less) that's a quibble.

I'm not sure I understand what this device offers. It vibrates to let you know you have a call, text etc but since there is no text display you need to get your phone out to check....which will be sat in your pocket and notifying you by vibrating anyway.

Fitness stuff like counting steps can be done by your phone with no external input anyway. So, what useful purpose does it serve?

Probably a point in its favour given modern buyer habits?
