Thread: recommend a mouse please.

    recommend a mouse please.

Need a new mouse for my iMac, I don't rate the magic 2 mouse, trying the magic trackpad out atm, it's better but don't think I'll prefer it over a good mouse.

So any suggestions please for a wireless mouse for a desktop?

I've owned a Logitech MX Revolution for probably 7 years now. It was the replacement for the awful corded Mighty Mouse that came with my 2008 iMac and has served me faithfully. Had to replace the battery a year or two ago but otherwise perfectly happy. The current model is called the MX Master. Pricey, but hey, you gets what you pays for!

Ahhhh I see! You didn't specify that ;-)

A company called Razer (an offshoot of Belkin I believe) make a lot of gaming peripherals and have some lefty mice. If you can get past the styling (not my cup o' tea), the quality will definitely be there.

I particularly like the Microsoft Wireless Mouse 2000. Comfortable, not too small, not too large, physically durable, good battery life. I think it should be Mac compatible.

Hopefully Microsoft are still making them or something similar.

Do you use your mouse in your left hand? The Microsoft mouse I suggest above is symmetrical, so can be used left handed.

Although I'm left handed I find it far easier to use my mouse in my right hand.

Quite a few of the Logitech mice are ambidextrous

I like the MX versions by Logitech, the MX Master is on sale at the moment in Currys/PCWorld for £55

I've had two Logitech mouses(?) which developed an involuntary double click just over twelve months after purchase. The last one was still under warranty so I did get a new one FOC from Logitech, but their customer service procedures are like trying to run through waist deep treacle. When this version packs up I shall be looking elsewhere.

+1 on any Logitech mice that suit your left handedness. I've been using them for 15 years for my mice, apart from a brief foray across to Microsoft when they did a collaboration with Razer and particularly like the the new gaming variants even though I gave up needing them for that years ago purely because of the range of adjustability on weight and DPI settings.

Possibly not the most helpful answer, but I moved to a logitech track ball two years ago and find it a massive improvement over a mouse or trackpad.
