Watches of Switzerland told me the new Explorer I (due October-ish) will be the same price as the old one, at least on launch.

....."Rolex reserves the right to modify the prices and models on this website if the pound collapses."
Does that mean they will put prices down if the pound surges ??
It's far more recent than that......days, at most....
"The prices of gem-set models are dependent on market fluctuations and therefore subject to variations.
Rolex reserves the right to modify the prices and models on this website at any time"
That first sentence has always been there, the second one has not.
I don't get a show price option at all when I go on Rolex.com from here
Since I'm still at least 18 months off being able to buy my first rolex at my current rate of saving I certainly hope they stay the same.

Above is a link to Rolexes legal terms and conditions. I can't find anything relating to price rise.
same for me - find retailer but no show price
Show price is still there for me!

Does this not give show price option? Show price pops up after 5 secs
The website will be able to tell the location of the IP address looking at it, and will be displaying prices accordingly.
I'm thinking the option to raise prices may be exercised very soon !

Looks that way...
No doubt other companies have similar price adjustments sitting in the wings.

Earlier on in the year they took the price off of online and I thought here we go price increase but it came back a couple weeks later at the same price.
Not saying it's the same this time just that I noticed the website doing this before
The £ hadn't just been shafted then though.
Does this mean that today is a good day to buy a BLNR with a slight discount?
You can have my BLNR at yesterday's list price . . . That will be the 'Bargain of the week' when prices jump up today!!
Just been on rolex website and prices are on with no increase
Though it does make sense for a price rise to happen soon
Best I top up my Daytona fund as I can't see it still being £8,250 by the time my allocation turns up!
Congratulations
I would never normally join the speculative debate but I'll put my neck out and say next week. Remember you heard it here first. ( Unless I'm wrong then move one)

Avoid the price rise, buy now! ;) today's pickup which you've all been very kind about.
My dealer did say that they do give people the price talk a lot, but now is very likely. I think we all figured that one out for ourselves watching the pound!

Agonising, especially as I'm awaiting allocation of the 214270/2016, and this thread features the handsome earlier 214270... do I risk a hit just to get those lume indicies and longer hands?
Also - what do we reckon the rise will be, if it comes, 10-12% ? There's still an argument they won't increase, given the state of the economy in the immediate post-brexit months.
???
"The state of the [UK] economy" (something about which we may have different opinions) is barely a consideration here. Rolex is looking at the international picture and the balance of prices, currencies etc worldwide.
In any event, historic data suggests that their UK sales will not suffer as you might expect during any kind of downturn.

10%/12% is a substantial price wise if correct
Great just what I need on the hunt for my new Sub!
If this Rolex price rise does happen will there be any knock on effect for Tudor? Or are Tudor now regarded as a totally separate company who will up the prices of their watches as and when they feel it necessary & not when 'parent company' Rolex up's their prices.
If you look at it purely from an exchange rate point of view if there was a product that was selling for CHF 10,000 on the first of January, for Rolex to still get CHF 10,000 today then my approximate back of a fag packet calculations mean that the $ price would need to go up 5%, the Euro price 9% and the GBP price by 14%.
When a watch is first released the release price is often quoted in CHF so you could argue that there is no price rise in the product as it leaves the factory you just have to pay more because your currency is weaker.
I could see a reasonable argument for now quoting prices in CHF and you make the currency conversion on the day you buy - technically the price is stable and then the manufacturer doesn't take the exchange rate hit.
Yes is the obvious answer!
If you don't get the revised version you'll spend a big chunk of money on the 'old' model and never be quite satisfied. If you get the latest version ( which is an improvement) you'll definitely be satisfied but you will possibly need to spend a big chunk of money plus a bit more.
You'll probably moan about the price for a little while but then you'll forget it; if you settle for something you're not 100% happy with it'll bug you for as long as you own the watch. I know which scenario I'd prefer.
Traditionally July is a slow time for watch sales and is generally a good time to buy. Well worth considering for anyone who's pondering whether to buy or not.
