    Thanks for this...
    First season was incredible..despite subtitles.

I must admit that when I started watching I expected it to revert to English.. but after half an episode I was hooked anyway..

I have just finished watching seasons 1 - 3 to refresh myself before I start season 4. Although I am waiting until I have a lazy weekend planned to allow me to blitz through the whole season.

I saw this article the other day that might impact on future seasons.

    Top man.

Subscribed short term to NowTV to watch GoT & Silicon Valley, one more to add to the list.

I suspect the twitching hand was a sure sign that it would return!

Will there be a season 3?

I can't see it myself given that most of the key protagonists are no longer available

Not a patch on series one I felt

Just watched the end of Season 2, I agree not as good as Season 1 but still very watchable.

It's brutal, makes Game of Thrones look like an episode of Postman Pat

    I hope there is a Season 3

Couldn't agree more that it holds a devestatingly stark realism more so than any wire, breaking bad, peaky blinders can offer! The typical poetic tragedy and unapologetic violence left a disturbing mark on me. One scene in particular in a revenge hit for the key players loss of wife in the first series just really compounded how deep the revenge and levels the mafia will go to. Not your typical soldier on soldier sopranos warfare here folks. Noone is off limits to a mach10 weilding loony on a vespa in these carefully planned daylight acts. Shocking

Loved Season 1, Season 2 still pretty good, but Gomorrah doesn't come close to The Wire for depth or gritty realism IMO. The original book and film are a different matter and well worth checking out.

Didn't even realise the move had come out until flicking through TV guide last night.

    Looking forward to watching it.

Didn't like the direction it went with season 3 (for obvious reasons, for those who have seen it) but felt season 4 was a return to form.

Love this show, fantastic scripting, plot, and acting. Can't wait for the new season! Patrizia is a great character and Genny's arc has been fascinating to watch. Where will it go next???

I read on another forum that season 4 was disappointing, so I was not sure about watching season 4 (I watched the first 3 seasons last year and liked it) .

    Give it a go?

I thought season 4 was one of the best. Superb show!
Just finished season 4, by far the best so far. Quality viewing.
100% watch it. The quality was as good, if not better, than previous seasons. With some of the character changes at end of S3 I think many people went into this season expecting it to be materially worse and didn't have an open mind.

I absolutely loved it, it was different, had some superb character arcs, keeps you guessing, and isn't afraid to sacrifice beloved characters for the sake of the plot.
Another thumbs up for S4 here
Thanks all! Will start with S4 tonight

I'd read that, and it's interesting to hear that it is actually the case for other regions in Italy.

Just adds to the intrigue of the show - an insight to an insight, if you like.

Reminds me of 'The Wire' - no pandering to the viewer, make them work for it. Adds to the authenticity, for me - no dilution through compromise.

My Italian (Roman) friends say the same thing. They tell me it’s like Londoners trying to understand a broad Glaswegian accent. They use subtitles.

I watched all the series and I visit the Naples area a lot. I only speak a few words of Italian but even I can tell how differently some words are pronounced - the last consonant often missing, ‘ci’ becomes ‘sh’ etc.

For those that don't know (which included me until yesterday) there's a movie that was released last year that is both a prequel and a sequel to the Gomorrah series. It's called L'Immortale, and it was on Sky Atlantic yesterday. There's a link to IMDB here.

I can only say that it's a must watch... absolutely brilliant up until the moment of the final credits. Hopefully, a precursor to season 5?
