    That's a nice collection.

I really like the Airman range.
I like the one on the right.

Is that the one with the blue numerals on the bezel and graduated blue/black dial?

Lovely collection, there. I'm a fan of Glycine - love the Airman model and the history surrounding it.

Here's my limited edition Lagunare (1 of 300):

So do you have a preference for the 3 hander "Purist" or the 4 hander Neil?

They're all non-purist but I hope to add a purist or two to the collection at some point.

I'm a big fan of Glycine and have had a few:

My favourite was the SST06 but it was just too big. Superb watch though and if they released it in a 40mm case I'd be straight on to it.

This is my current Airman No 1

    Lovely little thing

That is a collection in the truest sense of the word! I admire your commitment to that one model. I have had a Combat Sub and whilst I've considered an Airman I ended up with a Bremont MBIII to cover dual time duties.

The Airman 22 Mystery is one of the few "blacked out" watches that I really like the look of.

Thanks. I have a Combat Sub too that I'm also very fond of:

Yes, at 36mm I thought the Airman 1 might be too small. But not so, it's a great little watch.

You can get quartz airmans (airmen?) but all mine are autos with ETA movements.

Seems that the Airman World Traveler is quartz (booo!) but is a slightly more manageable 42mm (yay!). Your model is apparently 46mm?! How's the lug to lug width?

You're thinking of the Airman 17, which I don't have (probably too large for me).

    I have:
    - Airman 9 (44mm)
    - 4 x Airman 18s (39mm)
    - Airman 1 (36mm)

    On my WTB list are:
    - Double 12 (40mm)
    - Base 22 (42mm)
    - DC 4 (42mm)
    - 53 Vintage (42mm)
    - SST12 (43 mm)
    - lots of vintage / discontinued models

The Airman 01 is 36mm and has a ~45mm lug to lug length.
The Airman 18 is 39mm and has a ~46mm lug to lug length.
The Airman 22 is 42mm and has a 50.5mm lug to lug length (also Glycine quotes 42mm across, it's actually 41.3 or thereabouts - I measured)
The Airman 17 is 46mm and has a ~56mm lug to lug.
...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!

Only got the 1 myself but I do really like it, currently sporting a slightly different strap from the online image below.

Great colour combination and I particularly like the gold crown!

    Great watches!

I bought an Airman 18 Saphir at the beginning of the year but couldn't get on with the leather strap, it's really thick and very stiff, so I swapped for a mesh.

Recently bought the Airman 9 for a massive saving on RRP but it's large (for me) size and again leather meant I've passed it on to a friend.

The lugs look long and give it some bulk - is that how it appears in reality? I've been interested in one of these but thought that 36mm with a thick bezel would be small, but picture suggests otherwise and it looks good.

I bought a Combat KMU48 from here a couple of years back and love it. Sadly it gets no time on the wrist but I like the watch so much I'll not part with it. The dial goes from denim to black in the list and there is a sunburst style effect too. With the PVD case and dark strap it really does look great.

    Glycine airman

Nice collection op. I'd like a vintage airman one from the sixties when funds allow.

They make nice watches, don't they.

Have a Combat Sub, a Combat 44 with red fumée dial (up for sale soon), and a Ningaloo Reef Compliqué (a 7751 movement) so not a big Gycine collector but I do like them.

Nr. 2 is the 'real' thing, a vintage 60's Airman. I sold it to Andre Stikkers, the author of the 'Airman bible' you've linked to. How do you like the modern Airman 1? I've been looking into getting one recently as I miss having an Airman in my collection.

Thought so. I acquired my new Airman 1 fairly recently and haven't worn it in anger. But I like it a lot.

Got to say Neil I'm loving the Airman, always wanted one for a long time and yours seemed to tick all my boxes... I'll be on the look out for another in the future but undecided which one as of yet..

Had the Goldeneye but sold it...and now I'm considering it again! Really like the red bezelled combat sub - had thought of it as a black bay cheaper alternative.

Any more pics of it on different straps?

Thanks for sharing Neil. Three years ago in Basel a blue Airman was amongst my favorite watches seen there. Somehow forgot to take a picture. Tried to Google it after the show and found this (pic below).

This is listed as an Airman 17, but yours seems to be from another series. Is that a size thing only?
