I think the difference between him and Joffrey is that the latter was an utter coward whereas at least Bolton has some balls and will actively take part in the fruits of his sadism. With regard to the balls, the future of that remains to be seen. I suspect a certain victim of his may be back for some stone cold vengeance at some point.

Ya was an excellent sword fight alright . Bit of a slow episode overall though

  5. #55
What I never understand is why TV sword fights are always about whacking each other with the side of the blade, which is both tiring and ineffective. It looks and sounds good, but it doesn't bear any relation to real swordfighting, in which, as Jon Snow explains, you're aiming to stick them with the pointy end.

Not sure why, but I'm having real trouble getting into this latest season. Hopefully it will work itself out.

I enjoyed the episode. It was slower but if it was always fast paced then we wouldn't appreciate it. Some nice bridging to what looks to be the main arcs for the rest of the story.

I'm sure I heard somewhere that there will be just 2 seasons after this. Anyone heard the same and can verify?

It's the first season I've genuinely enjoyed and looking forward to the next episode since the first series. I think it's because I can now appreciate it as a TV show rather than a suboptimal representation of the books. I think Ramsay may well be in some trouble...

After last Season I was seriously considering giving up on this, but this new series has been great so far for me.
    Glad I stuck with it.

Seems that this season has committed to killing at least 1 of the long term characters in every episode . Wonder who's next

  17. #67
It's started a bit too slow, there are only 10 episodes they need to ramp up the pace before the series is over

  18. #68
Im watching the whole series again

    Quality TV

Indeed. What use is half a tonne of fire breathing aggression, nay, three half tonnes of fire breathing aggression if it isn't being used to give the good news to all the nasty transgressors? Mind you, it might be like one of those 'how it should have ended' videos on youtube, where Daenerys simply proclaims 'enough!' sending her trio of half tonne fire breathing aggressors to wipe out the entire cast, ending the whole series around season 4, and the final scene has Drogon warming the iron throne with his fire, Daenerys getting her kit off and settling her splendid posterior into the throne as the dragons eat the flame grilled carcasses of her enemies and Tyrion dances around in motley.

Now that would be a worthy climax.

So episode 5 has been leaked and I couldn't wait for the morning.
It's all coming together nicely , storylines are being fleshed out , but there's a terribly sad end to this one.

I think I was more affected by the opening shot "backstage" when we got a close up of a new member of the cast.

Appealed to you? The mummer's play had some nice features.

I didn't think this show could shock me any more with deaths but that was just wow - RIP.

I have to say this whole season has been excellent - maybe the whole not knowing has been a factor, but I sense the speed of the story is not only picking up but we can feel the conclusion coming.

Boobs on stage, gratuitous close up of penis, more boobs back stage.

    It was a roller coaster.

Last night's episode, was that the first time they did a scene before the opening credits?

That I can remember. I had to rewind to make sure it wasn't an ad for The Vikings.

Bizarelly I was thinking that they had never done that before, just before watching the episode!
However, it didn't look right (probably filmed by a different crew on another location?), and I also began to believe that I had recorded something else, until some very GoT sounding background music began.

Thinking about it, a lot of US shows do this (opening scene then the opening credits) I wonder if this was a mistake by HBO or Sky for the British broadcast?

I was looking forward to seeing how Ian McShane's character developed.

I thought that you may have confused his name with Ian McKellen, who I thought had died years ago.
He is still about too! Apparently some famous people may survive 2016 yet!?
