New Watch - Tag Heuer F1 Calibre 5

    Hi All,

I just had my new F1 Cal 5 delivered. It's great!

However, the rubber strap is still a bit large on the last hole for my small wrist.

Can I just take it to a watch shop to get 1 more hole punched or is it not possible due to the rubber material?

Would buying a deployment clasp help?

    Cheers.

Can't help with the strap fitment (although I would be tempted to DIY an extra hole) but that's a fine looking watch, i'd be interested to know how the time keeping is on it.
    Enjoy your new purchase!

I am not sure about the strap issue i cant see why you couldnt get someone to punch another hole in it, but i could be wrong, regardless of that, thats a nice watch congrats.

lovely watch. I would just DIY another hole. Drill should do it.

This. A really fine drill bit on a slow speed will d the job nicely.

I would recommend you punch, rather than drill a hole. You can also consider putting your watch on a leather strap instead.

Am not sure. The watch may not work once you punch a hole in it:-)

Very nice, lovely shape to the case. I'd be careful re putting an extra hole in the rubber strap. It's not something I've done, and I can't recall reading of anyone here doing it, but it seems to me that there's potential there to split the rubber. I'd do some research and perhaps pop into an AD to ask if they've done it for anyone before, it may be a simple task with a good quality ( and sharp ) hole punch. I've been looking for a smaller size rubber for my Voyager ( slightly sub 7" wrist ) and can find nothing to suit in a 115mm x 75mm size. What shape are the holes in the strap and the tang on the buckle BTW?

Nice as the watch is, I see that TAG's moved away from the original F1 concept completely. I reckon this is a shame, because the earlier F1 models looked avant garde.

Nothing against the OP's watch - far from it - but a shame TAG's lost its most avant garde style.
