The colour grows on you and is very 'of its era' ;-)

It is a Solari Udine Cifra 3 Diapason (= tuning fork), made in Italy, they made them also in synchronous and motor wind and latterly in quartz.

Superb! When you push the button, does it reset to 108 minutes?

Well I'm still lost, how does it work? I've found the quartz version on YouTube but that's simple.

It has a movement that uses the resonance of a small electro-mechanically maintained tuning fork as a time base this drives the gear train via a magnetic 'escapement' which in turn drives the number flaps.

Very nice, still kicking myself for missing a Vedette TF (Jeco) with large digits too!

Probably the same round Jeco movement as mine has, though there is the larger rectangular Jeco movement that Smiths used widely in the early 70s.

Wow. Thanks. Never heard of them before. You learn something new everyday, I'll delve a bit more, they're very interesting.

Not an easy find, and in such good condition too! What did you have to do to get it back to life??

Now thats very cool, I don't have many clocks but the one I covet the most is an Omega Electroquartz desk clock, they were produced in the late 1960's are marketing pieces for the Omega electrourtz watch, still accurate to 6 seconds per year after 1/2 a century! awesome tech

Cheers for all the positive comments guys, I had been after one for years but they make silly money.
It only needed a minor repair one adjuster cam had slipped in transit and needed re locating and these clocks need starting with a pencil pushed in a hole underneath, this pushes a lever which starts the clock, but if you don't know to do this, it makes the clock appear to be a non runner.
