I think the real ale revolution has truly swept the country; the North South divide is confined to history.

Plenty of great ales available in Yorkshire , Ossett Brewery's probably my favourite, but there's good beer to be had all over the UK thesedays.

    I disagree

    Examples:

The Alehouse, Broad Street, Reading - traditional pub with good selection of real ales

Binghams beers, microbrewery in Berkshire - available in many local pubs and further afield

The Best beer is from Belgium and Germany, so the correct answer must be East.

If you like fizzy bottled lager beer !

I was drinking in a pub with its own in house micro brewery last night... A young lad (mid twenties) was the owner and brewer and served some really nice stuff... It's great to see a real resurgence in real ale

Best town I've been to for real ale was Sheffield... Hands down

Burton on Trent is the home to real ale. Bass and Marston Pedi. Yorkshire has some fantastic ale though

I've been to Brugges and enjoyed their beers, so, yes, it is the voice of experience - it can be very good and I've also had some of the finest German Pilsner, but, it draught British bitter it isn't...

British beer is an entirely different beast however - an opinion!

If You have spent time in Bruges, you must have been to cambinus!!, 400 different beers under one roof, and hardly a fizzy lager in sight!!

we go regularly as door to door for us on the motorbike is under 4 hours.

Quite possibly? I remember some nice beers, the stronger they got, the more they tasted of Bannana... It was nice stuff and maybe describing it as fizzy lager is a little harsh, but, Belgium is birthplace of Stella

    I'm a bitter man though...

Definitely rate Belgian and German beers highly, but they're totally different from traditional British ales so it's like comparing apples and pears.
