Lovely, lovely watch but that's a strong price for an 1861 powered Speedy.

I think the price is reasonable for such a beautiful piece. Mind you I feel the original Speemaster is still underpriced TBH.
It's just dawned on me, there is one small detail I'm not so keen on with this edition and that's the second hand. Wouldn't be enough to stop me buying though if only I could afford it, love this Speedy.

I do prefer the spear hand or plain second hand as FOIS for the chrono, the circle just doesn't look quite right to me.

...but what do I know; I don't even like watches!
I'm surprised. I actually thought the retail would be a bit more than that. Still overpriced imho for what it is.
I don't wish to be negative but I'm having a hard time seeing the appeal of this one. I know it's a reproduction of a much loved piece so I must be missing something, it just seems a bit dazzling and I can't imagine the wardrobe it goes with. Another case of 'eye of the beholder' I guess?
Ker-Ching. How much???????? I'd want a bracelet at least for that.
Real shame it has no bracelet and agree does seem at bit rich
The lollipop works for me on the Spectre SM but not here. But then I guess I've spent too long looking at the traditional Speedy Pro (and I'm ignorant to the original that inspired it).
I think that actually looks better than the standard speedy
An abomination that flogs the dead horse to Biltong.
Find another grand & buy a half decent Ed White.
Price is consistent with the advice I was given. My boys were getting 1 and were away off to try to get another having "sold" the first to me. Subjectively its far batter looking than the latest Snoopy and look what that has done value-wise, albeit c.1,000 units less.
I christen thee... Blue Panda!

Not too keen on the hands but otherwise a very nice looking watch.
I love this watch - straight lugs, lollipop and blue panda dial. I do wish it came with a deployant though.
I don't care about the bracelet. Omega bracelets are either too tight or too loose for me and they have no micro-adjustment to speak of in the clasp. The half link doesn't help the fit for me, either. I have 3 Speedmasters and the bracelets all sit in their boxes. I think they look better on a strap anyway.
Grossly overpriced, dial's a mess, seconds hand looks wrong.

I am appealed by the watch, but can't afford the price
I have one of these coming in July, I am told it looks better when handled, thankfully mine is VAT free :)
Nice, but not £4k nice in my book.

Wanted - Damasko DC57
This was actually my favourite release from Baselworld but that price is too strong.......that said I think that about the price for most new watches!!
How many people will buy one and actually wear it, just counted 20 brand new Snoopy's on Chrono24. Seems like everyone wants to be a tout.
Particularly with Omega. They seem to think it is acceptable to increase the price by 25% for a watch that's had a slight cosmetic makeover compared to the original. You could almost accept this if their limited editions actually held some kind of exclusivity. Instead they release multiple limited editions every year in the thousands! Rant over.
Lot of people ranting about the price. Since when have luxury products offered value for money? If you think the price is too much go and buy a cheaper watch.
For others, myself including I think its s great looking watch. If it's 4100 so be it.
You pays your money and takes your choice.

Should be getting mine in 2 weeks. Really looking forward to it.
That Blue does seem to be in at the moment. Breitling have a Navitimer with blue sub dials. Different but similarities. Blue is the colour.
That's a great looking watch
The ck is not a snoopy though. It has its own charm. I think it will appeal to different people.

I think you are right on this and although a few of the early receivers may well make a quick buck, I think roll out will be far quicker and that profiteering will quickly die away. For those buying for the right reasons it is a great watch, but I don't really see this as a longer term speculators watch.
Who really knows on what the future value will be. I think such a watch will gradually find its way to those who desire its charm and then we won't see many popping up for sale. When they do resurface they will hold their value well.
The way omega prices are going, you are not going to pick up anything half decent at 4k from omega as new in 10 years time.
You just look back 10 years and you can see the price points of newer models rising more dramatically as newer movements are introduced. Watches are also getting bigger which is one thing that puts me off omegas direction of travel.
