    Shaving Subscriptions - Cornerstone

Although I have been an avid DE / Straight shaver for a number of years, there are times when I need a quick and dirty shave with something less likely to remove an ear if I'm tired and not concentrating. I've experimented with various disposable and cartridge razors over the years, along with some very expensive electric shavers and all of them leave me with razor rash, or ingrown hairs, or a sub-standard finish (ie. not BBS).

That was until I signed up for a trial with Cornerstone via a Facebook link a while ago.

For £14 you get a personalised handle (engraved with up to 3 initials) and six multi-blade cartridges that are as sharp as any DE blades I've ever used (including Feathers !). They also last a good 8 to 10 shaves before you even begin to notice that they're getting worn. I've not had any razor rash and get an awesome BBS shave every time, with VERY little fuss.

For £30 you get the handle, blades, and also tubes of a very good exfoliator, shave gel, and aftershave balm. The gel is certainly better than any Gillette gel I've used, and lathers pretty well when used with a good shaving brush.

What makes Cornerstone different is that there is NO commitment to continuing after your trial... you can set the number of months before they re-stock you (1, 2, or 3 month), pause it indefinitely, or just delete your account ... it's up to you, but I bet you will want to carry on once you've tried them.

What is even better, is that if you use my referral link (removed - use one of the links below to share the discounts around ) you save £10 off your first order. So you can get a personalised handle, six cartridges. and free delivery to a UK address for just £4 (or £20 for the whole lot including the products) !!!

Gotta be worth a go, right ?

    Go on then!

Thanks for the discount code, and spend your £10 wisely!

I enrolled in this a while ago and am finding the products rather good all round. (Not committed to the regular re-stock as I’m a sporadic shaver - or ‘a scruffy sod' as my wife prefers to call it).

I used Cornerstone mainly for the ability to get the razor and 6 blades for £4 with the £10 off new customer voucher. Honestly, I didn't find it any better or worse than the Gillette Fusion offerings and it was a faff that you subscribe to it because even on their lowest sending settings it looked like they'd be coming too often - I'm still not through my original 6 blades a year in, so I cancelled my subscription as I don't think I could suspend it for long enough. I was never tempted by the scrubs or shave gels which worked out to be fairly expensive when you compare to what you can get on offer in the supermarkets or even from online specialists and tbh I was more than happy with the stuff I use at the moment. I actually switched to DE razors at Christmas because I tend to only shave once or twice a week and found multi-blade cartridges pulled at the hair too much, but when the hair was shorter they were very quick and efficient shaves.

I'll give it a go too, even though I get loads of shaves out of my Gillette Fusion cartridges just by using a Razorpit blade sharpener.

Well I've just had my £10 discount thanks to Dan above, so if anyone else is looking to switch to these chaps my link is as follows ...

    https://www.cornerstone.co.uk/7ric0950

    Cheers

Thanks chaps. I've gone ahead with this, sounds like a good deal and I've had enough with my current wilkinson sword setup which seems to rip through blades too quickly.

Another discount link from me here but please use the above ones first since they deserve the recommendation.

    Excellent - thank you.

I have removed the link in my original post to share the discounts with the others... what goes around, comes around etc.

Given It a go thanks, enjoy your £10!

Mine arrived over the weekend and just gave it a try. Definitely a good shave, at least as good as the fusion blades but if anything I'd say these are better. Probably the best of the cartridge blades that I've tried.

The handle is also better, nicely weighted and it stands up on its own because of the flat base.

    Thanks for the recommendation :)

No worries... I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at how long they stay sharp, too.

Definitely the best cartridge based system I've used.

  14. #14
Tried mine for the first time yesterday and I must admit first impressions are very good. Gives a very good shave, far better than any cartridge blade I've used previously.

Thanks OP for posting this as it looks like I may stick with it for a while

  15. #15
My only complaint is the lack of a trimming blade on the cartridge (as per the Gillette Fusion) so trimming up to the edge of a goatee is difficult.
I have fed this back to Cornerstone and await a response.

They replied to say they are working on a different cartridge with a trimming blade.

With DE shaving it all depends what blades you use. The best around now are polsilver super iridium. I can shave very fast with them no problem. With feathers I would not dare try

Just used your code, Rob. Thank you!

4 quid for 6 blades is cheaper than anything else so even if I never use them again it's worth it!

Received my delivery from Cornerstone, looks very good stuff and the personalised handle is a nice touch.

Once the code underneath this post is used mine is shown below if anybody is kind enough to use:

    https://www.cornerstone.co.uk/7gle0083

If you're looking for a deal on the blades i get them from Bearded Colonel and they're the same that Cornerstone use.

If you wanted a new customer deal on blades from Bearded Colonel then the code they gave me for that is:

    https://beardedcolonel.co.uk/?invite=glenn1889

Use both together and you can be smoother for ages!

    Credit allowance

Has anyone else noticed that their credit allowance doesn't show as being in credit despite your Friends code having been used??

I've had no issues, but you do you realise there is a maximum number of referrals you'll be credited for (10 according to the T&Cs), might that be the issue ??

I've also joined in as a very close friend of Toby....I picked a referral code at random.

    Nice to meet you Toby.

Here is my code, should anyone wish to be my friend. Alternatively, pick one of the other codes.

Pleasure to "meet" you too. May I say, you look like a man with a fine razor...!

Now you mention it, my allowance still shows 0.

Another blatant code here if anyone's feeling like they need a shave. Tramp beards are so 2015 don't ya know:)

My credit is showing. Maybe just get in touch with them? Or do it when you're ready to make your next order. I'm sure it's not tough to resolve. Did you get an email from them when someone used your link?

I think I have the answer. Looks like Rob used my code as I now have twenty quid credited.
I did delete the emails but I'm sure it was Rob. Let me know how you want to sort it. I was thinking of sticking a tenner in the Fundraiser?

On another note, my stuff turned up today and very nice it is too. I've been using DE blades for a couple of years now but the first use of my cornerstone razor produced excellent results. Most impressed.

Thanks to Daniel for starting the thread and to Alex who's code I used.

Looking forward to trying the blades out. Interested to see how it compares to my Feather DE razor.

I got a bit giddy and also ordered an extra handle for my son with his initials..... he's seven. I'll have to put it in a box with some blades, then remember to give it him in six years time!

Here's my code should anyone want to use it: https://www.cornerstone.co.uk/7sim0772

Ordered one of these myself, and really impressed. The shaver head seems to be based on the king of shaves razor from a few years back, which I found was my favourite until they stopped making them
