Oh yeah, I like the special edition Turtle, SRPA21.

Great idea, they should have done it years ago.

    Two questions...

    1. does anybody leave their dive computer behind to slip on a watch these days ?

    2. will PADI now be announcing a Desk Diving course ;-)

Do I sense a little rivalry?

The SUN065 would be the one for me, really interesting alternative colour scheme to the others in the SUNxxx range. Just a shame that they are truly massive on the (my) wrist.

    1. I wear a watch when I train in a pool but not a computer
    2. Probably! :)

This is the Turtle to have.
I actually threw my money at the screen but nothing happened.
Then ,I screamed - Take my money but no response except people around me looked at me as if I was crazy.
Guess, will have to wait till it shows up on some website for sale and then pull the trigger on this bad boy.
Some may be turned off by extra writing on the dial but I really like this one.

Really quite like the look of this. Too many options, not nearly enough cash!

Perfect excuse to post Dive watch used in Diving shot:

I had just qualified as Padi OW, AND its a Seiko.

    Dave

Edit - BSAC now, doing my Sports Diver

  17. #17
^^ Good work Dave. Nice to see the watch doing what it was born to do :)

If you are really 'doing' your watch, you should seek professional help.
I too love watches but not this much!

NAUI is the *other*, original, US dive school (founded 1960).

SSI was founded in 1970 (Scuba Schools International).

I've also studied with TDI (Technical Diving).

    Never studied officially with PADI.

Just to add to the list
PADI is professional association of dive instructors,
And BSAC is British Sub Aqua Club

    The Turtle to have, definitely.

Always thought it was contrary not to have the blue dial with the Pepsi on the standard model.

I dove back in the day with only a single regulator and the ability to breath directly from the tank without a regulator. All while wearing my trusty Seiko 6309 7049, 1981 purchased and still have....mint condition.

Was quoted June/July by my local AD.
Now take that with a pinch of salt but at least they did call Seiko (not sure if JP or TH HQ) before getting back to me, so hopefully more substantial than a wild guesstimate.

I'm willing to be that these never officially come to the UK.

Have been informed by Seiko Australia of a tentative July release date also, no pricing.

Are they limited or will they be generally available? I really like those. Not screaming 'take my money' like them, but I would own and wear that

So it seems that this is the best info:

Will be worth 5 or 6 times the price of a normal one in 20 years time with a commercial logo on the dial (oh wait, that only works with Rolexes )

    And Scubapro.

Unfortunately this is a marketing tie-up, not a commercial one.

Like the Domino's Rolexes (and I'm sure I've seen some others).

    PADI 'Put Another Dollar In'
    BSAC 'Better Sign Another Cheque'
    NAUI 'Not Another Underwater Idiot'

Now that's cleared up, like the watch!

Pay And Die Immediately is the one I've heard!

I'm a BSAC diver these days, but I started off with PADI and dive at their centres on holidays still, so no axe to grind (although some BSAC old-schoolers seem to have!).

    Cheers.

If anything, it's introduced me to the SUN019. Now trying to internally justify spending £400 on one!
