That looks remarkably modern in design for a watch from 1974. I could see that for sale as a modern design now. I like it.
I love those Seikos.
By the way, could that be 1964? Big markers suggest 70s but overall design looks more 60s to me.
I'd love to think it was as old as 1964.... Might well add to its value! ;-)
Such a timeless design. I'm sure some smart watches will have an equivalent virtual dial.
What is the movement?
Looks good on your wrist ...errrr, arm.
But, too subtle for me I am afraid.
I like the dial colour on that one. Smoking!
No crown? How is the time set?
1971. I've also got the same model in white. The gray is much nicer! The 7000 is just the same as the 7005 but manual and dateless. It cost me next to nothing on eBay, but its one of favourite watches.
The one imperfection: it too has a tiny crown, half-receded into the case - which makes winding it a pain in both senses
very nice watch, how much does the watch cost. maybe it is very expensive?
And yet plain and simple like this is definitely in fashion on higher end dress watches. The 7000-movement Seiko from 1971 bears a strong resemblance in terms of its plain good looks to current Grand Seikos or some of the SARB range or similar.
Conversely, there were 1970s watches (most from later in the 70s I think) that had very bright and busy dials.

The simple dress watch is imo what Seiko does best

I do like their classic watches, like the Hi beat King Seiko (stolen picture)
However I think they are one of the last really good dive watch makers - not so expensive that you wouldn't dive in them, reliable and easy to read. That I think is Seikos forte.
