Lightbulb Wrist Watches Survey University Student Research Project - HELP NEEDED!

    Hello gents,

I hope this is not against the rules of this community.
My name is Steven Silverston and I'm a student at the University of Leeds (UK). I know this would sound a bit cheesy, but I'm doing my final project as a design student and I need to get an insight on people, watches, storage, and winders.

I would be extremely thankful if you take 3-5 minutes to participate in my anonymous survey here:

    http://goo.gl/forms/0Kbd9ulKVy

This means the world to me as you are literally helping me graduate.

    Thank you for the time!

Done. The questions you have asked seem very random. Can't seem to find the connection between the stated objective and questions posed.

Done. A lot of focus on automatic watches.

You didn't ask in the survey but the number of automatic winders I own is, and will continue to be, zero.

It would be interesting to know how you intend to analyse this information and exactly what insights you feel you can draw from these questions in particular.

In particular, are you comparing WIS responses to 'general public' responses? Do you have a baseline/control survey done via, say, a tropical fish collectors forum or a knitting forum?

I'm clearly a suspicious old sod - I gave up at the question that asked the value of my watch.

As far as I can see there is no direct way to link the survey to anyone's identity.

The IP address of each visitor could be (probably is) recorded but this will generally only link to an ISP. It would be necessary to examine the ISP's records to see who the user of that IP was at any one time. That information is not easily available other than to the police, etc.

As an aside, GCHQ or NSA (I forget which) are documented to have used techniques similar to public surveys on a subject that they knew was of interest to a particular target person: There would be a Javascript exploit payload that would target him and only him, so they gained access to his computer by such a means.

Irrespective of that, the fact that the survey is hosted on Google made me less than enthusiastic about completing it.*

*I know that, in the modern world, it's practically impossible to avoid the dirty feckers but I object to handing them stuff on a plate.

Its a standard Google Form application, so no personal details would be included or I would have access to them. The only extra information that I would receive is Date and Time. Thats all :)
Thank you all for participating, I'll post a couple of charts that might be interesting to you a bit later.
