I did have a version of this post ready to go a week ago but things turned out a little different….
Here is the current and possibly last collection for a long while. I do need to trim this too down to a final 8. Or 6 if I'm being hard.
Planet Ocean
Not worn in a year but I can't part with it and my son has his eye on it.
Did toy with the idea of swapping the bezel for a change but its one of those things I never got round to.
Dornblueth 99.2
My 40th birthday present to myself.
As with the Mrs its a lovely thing that could do with going on a diet.
Rolex Explorer 214270
My second and my daily wearer. Simple and to the point.

Another second time round and a keeper this time.
Rolex GMT Master II Pepsi
Found a nice 1999 Pepsi thats also my sons birth year as a nice hand me down in (many) years to come.
Currently on leather as its still a little on the shiny side for me on the bracelet.

Its a modern classic (I’m not a huge fan of dates) and this is great on a NATO.

This went on holiday to Tony for a while but is now back home :)
Rolex Explorer 16570 Polar
Bought at the back end of last year to complete my little Explorer/GMT collection.
These Polar Explorers have a charm of their own.
Omega X-33 Skywalker
Titanium multi function goodness.
Wears so much smaller than its 45mm (my limit seems to be 40mm or so) and is so light and comfy you forget its there. Until one of the alarms goes off. Out of oxygen or mission phase time or something spectacular. I use it to tell me when my bread has risen. Living the dream.
Nomos Weltzeit
The most simple to use and read GMT function I’ve ever used.
A fantastic watch for the price and theres even a blue dial version. Have no need but must resist.
Grand Seiko SBGW033 130th Anniversary
I’ve had a few Grand Seiko’s and they really are gorgeous pieces.
This was many months in the finding and when it eventually came and the box opened theres the feeling of “bloody hell, where is it?”.
At just less than 36mm its a tiddler compared to most but wear it for a few minutes and everything is just ‘right’.
Possibly the absolute definition of what a 3 handed manual watch should be.
I did agree to sell this the other week but the chap seems to have disappeared so maybe thats a good sign.
Patek 5164 Travel Time
The end game of my chopping and changing.
I was perfectly happy with the collection as it stood a week ago and was half way through doing this write up - a 16 watch 2 box collection (had to fill all the slots, anal I know. Stop it. Stop that right now.) that would never bore me and gave quite a few options.
Perfectly happy.
Until the 5164 Travel Time came up on SC.
A GMT function is the only thing I use often and this watch was one of a select few that I’d consider flipping a lot of the others for (the other options both being H Moser, their Dual Time or the Perpetual Calendar)

Cue lots of outgoings, a nice meet up and chat with Craig and one special incoming was on my wrist. And fitted perfectly to said wrist - the strap that I originally thought was cut too small (and was ready for an eye watering replacement) fits like it was made for me.
Maybe I’m wasting away - I’ve goal keeper hands and small girls wrists.
Pics to follow but I wanted to get this post finished as it seems to be my 1,000th and a rather fitting hiatus in my watch journey.

Omega Speemaster Tintin
I’ve always had a few Omegas in the collection and have been without a Speemaster for a couple of months since selling the 45th Anniversary edition.
This ticked lots of boxes and is another future classic but money talks and I needed some so this was one of the ones that had to go recently.
Rolex Explorer 16550
Slipped through my hands that quick I didnt even get chance to wear it let along take a picture.
A lovely and reasonably rare 16550 that was to live alongside my Polar in the collection.
Rolex GMT BLNR
Buying something for big money involves big sacrifices and this was a hard one to let go.
Possibly the ideal travel watch that can take anything you’d throw at it.
Grand Seiko SBGV009
Again a text book definition of what a modern quartz watch should be.
Will be sorely missed as a pick up and go (and oh look, its still at the correct time) watch.
Tudor Black Bay Black
Shakes fist at having to sell good watches just after Christmas when the funds are low.
Still, the end game is worth it.

Your SOTC is one I always look forward to Pete. This year does not disappoint and I think the end game was worth it. Love that PP. Thanks for the update and all the pics. I wonder how much it will change by next year? ;-)

I'd really struggle to pick one if I had to, but I am lusting after a Moser after trying on the PC, so my vote goes to the Mayu.

I like the look of the explorer on the leather. Made me have second thoughts about listing my 114270. That said the Moser stands out as the quality piece in your collection imo.

Know what you mean but this one was bought to get some actual use.
I travel a fair bit and as a dual time GMT watch that doesn't come across as too showy (no shiny bracelet, no brightly coloured bezel) and can get wet every now and then (if only the Nomos had a screw down crown and a tad more than 3ATM water resistance) that ticked all the boxes for me.
Its also thin and light enough to forget its there with the tropic strap being supremely comfortable.

You have some of my absolute favourite watches here! Travel time, sea dweller, polar explorer, and that Moser is amazing, well done sir.

A quick update on the Patek - on the wrist for a week and currently -2secs and I cant grumble at that.
That impressed I'm going all in for a 5712 :)

Wow - what a fabulous collection. To echo other posters in particular I like your strap choices. I LOVE the Heureville strap on the explorer and I think the Nato works fabulously well on the X-33!
