I tried but couldn't get into it, Jude Law seemed to be over cooking the acting a bit.

We've just started watching the first series of this, and are really impressed. Obviously Philip K Dick was a genius, but some of the adaptions of his work have been a bit spotty. This is superb though - proper, intelligent sci-fi. (A lot better than Westworld imo).

I think Dune needs this kind of treatment.

Just finished Nobel on Netflix , pretty good .
Norwegian drama with subtitles set in Afganistan and Oslo.
Plenty of watch spots in it too for added interest.

these are a few decent ones off Amazon Prime...

    Back Sails
    The Following
    Vikings
    Sons of Anarchy
    Ray Donovan

I am not sure where you can get this one "included" any more, but you can buy it.

    Silicon Valley

Have watched and enjoyed both The Expanse and 3%. I tried a few episodes of The Man in the High Castle, but it just didn't engage me.

I really enjoyed Sense8, one of the most original series ever and with remarkable performances from actors I had never seen before. Anyway, Netflix have just announced there will be a Christmas Special on December 23rd.

Currently watching episode 2 of The OA on Netflix and I think I'm hooked. If you liked Stranger Things it's worth a shot.

Been watching a bit on Amazon Prime, notably Goliath is shaping out well.

Red Oaks is pretty easy viewing too.

Finished Gloliath yesterday and we really enjoyed it. Noticed on Netflix there's a new series imagining of Van Helsing. Enjoyed Lucifer on Amazon but he plays it a bit camp and mischievous rather than menacing. Tried Preacher but struggled to engage. Looking forward to Sens8 Chrissy Special but need more iZombie now. Has anyone seen 'A Moody Christmas' on Netflix? Dry Aussie sense of humour and a couple of familiar faces from other Netflix offerings.

Taskmaster with the huge Greg Davies is pretty good, though I think just about everything he's in or on is great

    Love Silicon Valley.

Whilst I'm sure we agree the US does some great drama, comedy doesn't cross the cultural divide quite as well. US comedy can be way too schmaltzy for my likings. SV stays the right side of the line IMO. That's why I like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

Divorce is shaping up quite well, even though I normally can't stand Sarah Jessica Parker.

Just finished season two of The Man in the High Castle.

Simply exceptional. The detail and the depiction of Berlin under a world dominating reich in 1963 is quite incredible to any student of history. An utterly compelling glimpse of what might have been...
So clever my foot fell off.

I found this a little while ago and can't believe its not made a bigger splash over here (unless I missed it) considering how many series there are.

Just 2 episodes into Preacher - Joseph Gilgun and Dominic Cooper are both good but not really got much of a clue what is going on yet .

    +1 for

    The OA
    Silicon Valley
    Twenty Twelve / W1A
    Ray Donovan
    Taskmaster
    It's Always Sunny...
    Westworld

A lot of great TV to watch whilst Eastenders, Strictly, X Factor, Masterchef and other shite is on the idiot box.

just watched the whole series, I thought it was good in a kind of Donnie Darko kind of way, I expected a little more from the ending, but still good.

Goliath on Prime is very watchable. Billy Bob Thornton stars in a thriller cum courtroom series. Good ensemble cast, and well written.

On a similar note, I've just binge watched series 1 to 4 of Breaking Bad and have just started series 5 last night. Must be the last person on Earth that hasn't seen it.

I think that's me. If I don't get a set for Christmas I might be posting a WTB or on to EBay.

If you haven't seen it watch River with Stelan Skarsgård - a detective series with a flawed lead suffering delusions and mental illness. It is an absolute cracker.

If you fancy something funny and undemanding then 'Parks and Recreation' is wonderful. The Ron Swanson character in particular is hilarious.

Well, if you've reasonable grounds to assume it's you, it must be me as I've not seen it and don't have any plans to.

I'm sure it's great, like the Sopranos and Lost and The Wire, but they've passed me by and I don't have a problem with that.

We've just started this. It's a bit marmite, but Brit Marling is clearly quite a talent - she writes a lot of the stuff she's in. The movies she has done with Mike Cahill and Zal Batmanlij are all good, if a little baffling. I particularly liked Sound Of My Voice and I Origins - but I'm a bit of sucker for clever sci-fi.

Best not to expect any definite answers in any of her work.

+1 for The Expanse, Sense8 & Stranger Things. Orphan Black is under appreciated IMHO, just starting The OA, good first episode.
Comedy wise I've recently finished the 5 seasons of Community that are on Netflix and loved it.
Moved onto Brooklyn 99 and that's great too.

Finished 'Van Helsing' the other night and quite enjoyed it. Shades of 'The Strain' but not enough to compromise it. If you like 'Sens8' there is a new series next year but there is a Christmas Special coming on at some point today, keep an eye out!

is there anything you guys watch but the Mrs does not? I like 'Luke Cage' but have to watch it without the wife as she doesn't, 'Daredevil' she will suffer but only occasionally. Having said that, most things we both like and watch together.

Pity it doesn't seem to have developed enough of an audience to guarantee a second series.

Just watching Ep8 it gets better as it goes on, if you like SiFi. Looks really good in 4K

Just finished the series, it's a great watch, as said Millie Bobby Brown has a great future.
