The Marvellous Mrs Maisel series 4 is a great look back at the early 1960's fashion, cars etc in New York. Pretty funny sometimes as well.

I've just finished season 2 of Raised by Wolves. It's super super weird, I was starting to question if all the weirdness was going anywhere but the last few episodes were great (even though the weirdness level keeps rising).

Overall I think I preferred it to season 1. I really hope they make a 3rd season.

Totally agree with all the weirdness quotes, but I find it fascinating to watch, and the theme tune…

Yes the theme tune and accompanying imagery are brilliant too!

I'd like to see more of the backstory to the series, the war between atheists and believers on Earth. Maybe an opportunity for a future prequel series?

Yes indeed. It also might more sense than the crazy weird planet they’re currently on with ragnor lothbrook

    Really enjoying Raised by Wolves.

Some others we have rated in the last 6 months or so are:

    Top Boy
    Yellow Jackets (really develops well)
    Resident Alien
    Midnight Mass

Just started Slow Horses on Apple and it’s very good, some of Oldmans lines are brilliant.

Started Outer Range - 4 episodes in and it's sort of taking off...sort of. Will keep going and it's a bit different.

The wife and I just started Top Boy, only on series one. I can handle the Jamaican slang and accent but did struggle a little with the London slang but the more you watch the more you understand. Its off to a good start, looking forward to watching how it all plays out.

I watched the first 2 episodes last night. Odd mix of cowboy and either sci-fi or supernatural but I can't fathom out which. I'll stick to the end because I always fancied being a cowboy :D

    Godless, on Netflix

Slow start but worth pursuing. Acting is excellent, especially that of Jeff Daniels, and the sets and atmosphere satisfyingly earthy.

A proper western to match the level of Open Range

I’m four episodes in and haven’t got a clue what’s going on yet.
    It’s certainly a slow burner.

For any Bosch fans out there.
The new spin-off series Bosch Legacy has started on Freevee (Prime Video) - Harry Bosch now a P.I. having retired from the LAPD.

I’m just going back through Better Call Saul while the latest series airs. I think I gave up on it after around six episodes last time, but I’m enjoying it much more this time around.

Finished Top Boy series 4 last night. Unfortunately, I was really disappointed with this one. Just felt like the realism had gone from it. Probably not a popular view, but mine none the less

Loved Slow Horses and can’t wait for the second series

Also finished Yellowstone ( brilliant) & going to start the prequel 1883 tonight

This is absolute gutter level TV but if you're into Married at First Sight and nonsense like Love is Blind then you will find The Ultimatum hilarious.

I hadn't realised it is only up to episode 4 so far, and binged them..........................

    It's classic Bosch, not really a 'spin-off'.

If you liked the first 7? series - this is a must.

    Thank you.
I liked the Bosch series, so will give it a go.

    EDIT:
I have now watched the new 'Bosch Legacy' version and I see what you mean when you say it is not a spin off. It is just a continuation of where the last series finished.

1883, Has anyone else watched it? I'm struggling a bit to get into it , but will persevere

Also watching 61st Street. I think its a well written and acted US crime drama, a little different to the norm

Lastly, started watching DI Ray on ITV, reqally not enjoying it at all, the acting is so wooden!

  36. #3986
Stranger Things 4… it's still a nonsense but fantastically well made in the 80s Spielberg style.

It manages to make spending up to 90 minutes an episode (episodes run different lengths) with some kids and monsters actually bearable.

Plus the sound… possibly the most dynamic sounding TV series ever. Better than most films, with the exception of Blade Runner 2049 naturally. The foley is absurdly magnified, everything snaps and bangs and crashes, surround is heavily used and the whole atmosphere is astonishing if you have a home theatre. I hated the foley at first, simply too much, but then just let it go and it’s all part of the amped-to-the-max effects, audio, visual and storytelling.

Give it a go, ideally with your AV setup pumped.

Binge watched and thoroughly enjoyed Stranger Things 4. Now have to wait until July 1st for the two-part conclusion (both episodes are feature length, apparently).
Would also recommend Night Sky on Amazon and Tokyo Vice on Starzplay

Snowfall - about the crack epidemic to hit America during the 80s- by John Singleton of Boyz n the hood fame. Its excellent.

The King of Warsaw is very good (Channel 4 / All4) as is The King - an Italian series about a prison governor, if you don't mind sub-titled stuff.

    Ozark Series 4.

I enjoyed this despite it getting more than a little bit silly towards the end. At the same time I am also pleased it has ended.

It was also nice to see that the final episode was not the predictable 'full guns blazing/drug dealers gone wild' affair.

    8/10 from me.

Really enjoyed both The Lincoln Lawyer (Netflix) and Bosch Legacy (freevee) - already looking forward to the next series of both.

Fun fictional fact (and apologies if it's been mentioned before) - Mickey Haller and Harry Bosch are half-brothers, their father was Michael Haller Snr.

Grace on ITV was really good - based on novels by Peter James. Slightly extreme storylines but very watchable and gripping.
