This is one of the best dramas I have seen in ages it is superb.
Acting/dubbing is a bit odd, but the story is outstanding.

Stuck with it (The Staircase). Glad I did as was hooked by the end. Can’t beat a good binge watch.

Just watched the first episode of Stella Blomkvist, an Icelandic series starring the very easy on the eye Heida Reed (Elizabeth from Poldark). Pretty good so far, reminds me a bit of The Killing (murder cover-up of someone close to the government), but Stella is a smart lawyer rather than a policewoman and has a taste for drinking whisky, shagging and generally behaving badly.

Probably been mentioned before but I've just finished watching the first two seasons of The Good Place on Netflix, season three is in the works apparently.

It's a laid-back but smart comedy about a woman who's mistakenly sent to Heaven, but that's all I'll say as you really should discover it all for yourself.

The cast are uniformly excellent and the writing is very clever, except for the incessant use of the word "literally" which was a bit annoying!

Have just finished watching the last season of The Americans. Sad to see this show end, but I guess it had to at some point.

Now I need something else I can download & watch on the flight back from Dubai as I’ve watched everything I’d like to on the in flight entertainment thingy.

“The Good Place” is on my to watch list.

I’ve recently discovered “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”.

    What an absolute comedy gem!

(And now going into its 13th and 14th seasons...)
So clever my foot fell off.

I'm watching it on a French cable channel (13ème rue), but as Heida Reed is well known to UK viewers I imagine it's on a UK channel somewhere.

Yeah it was a great TV series that ITV messed about with which meant it never took off in the uk.

CAn be found on amazon prime now though.
Got the last 2 seasons to watch yet :)

I found this the other year. Watched about 3 or so seasons which I enjoyed but to be honest I started to get a bit bored with it as it seemed to follow the same sort of story line nearly every episode.

Go back to it, I actually think it gets stronger and stronger, and more varied. Did you see The Nightman musical episode?

One of the funniest episodes of anything ever! And your right, just gets funnier/worse as it goes along!

It's just two men sharing the night
    It might seem wrong
    But it's just right!
It's just two men sharing each other
It's just two men like loving brothers
One on top and one on bottom
One inside and one is out
One is screaming he's so happy
The other's screaming a passionate shout

Don't think I have. If they're into 13 or 14 seasons they must be good I suppose. I'll reinvestigate.

Yellowstone with Kevin Costner is looking good after 2 episodes.

Just finished watching Altered Carbon. After a promising start it deteriorated into trope-driven garbage and I completely lost interest. Slogged through to the end in case there were any hidden twists. There weren't.

Stylistically, it owes a lot to Bladerunner, but it has no noir elements and isn't really cyberpunk either. The story is mostly derivative of Ghost in the Shell, but unlike say, the Matrix, which took those ideas and expanded them in a different direction, AC raises lots of interesting premises and then utterly fails to to explore them in any kind of interesting way at all.

On the upside however, it does have lots of fight scenes and boobies.

chuckle, clearly should've used the boobies disclaimer after all.

As an aside I enjoyed the books so much, thought the Takeshi Kovacs character was properly hard boiled in the first one and then just got more badass, he's one of my favourite anti heroes, just my personal opinion of course.
I hoped for the best but doubted the tv version could do him/them justice.

Ahh the woman out of dollhouse.
Not seen here in anything recent.

Now that is a cult series worth a watch for 2 series i think.
Women drugged/mind controlled and sent on missions for the rich and powerful.
Eliza dushku was in it as well.

I like threads like this as it stops me spending half an hour flicking through Netflix. Having identified a programme worth watching I use https://www.justwatch.com/.

I find this a good site for discovering where something is being shown. If you have a VPN/SmartDNS even better.

Any good New TV Series worth watching

The Bridge, series 4. In fact, start at Series 1, and work through to 4. In Danish and Swedish with subtitles, but it’s just awesome.

I would stick with Altered Carbon, I really enjoyed it. Eventually I enjoyed City and the City, but episode 1(of 4), was turgid

I took the 4 day trial on Starz on Amazon to watch Mr Mercedes. It's good, Brendan Gleeson is terrific, Harry Treadaway is great as the villain. Not finished it yet, Holly Gibney has just appeared and I'm not sure of the choice of actress, but will see how it finishes up. Best TV adaptation of a Stephen King book I've seen since Salem's Lot.

Great series, one of Joss Whedon's best sleepers. Thouroughly enjoyed it but Eliza Dushku has been quiet of late.

Excellent series and nice to see Anna Torv using her native accent. Blinding role for Damon Herriman as well, challenging but pulled off with aplomb!

Started this and i thought it had great potential. Like you though i lost interest 5 or 6 episodes in. Maybe revisit it in the future.

We are watching 'Good Girls' on Netflix which is pretty good, always nice to see Christina Hendricks on the screen. 'The Handmaids Tale' is getting even more tense, if it could! Light watching for me is 'Seal Team' which is basically 'inspired' by the early 2000's series 'The Unit' but Navy SEALS rather than Delta Force and a bit less of the family angle.

Looking forward to 'S.W.A.T' coming soon, the ads look good.

About halfway through new Amazon (actually AT&T production) Mr Mercedes based on a Stephen King book. Psychological thriller with Brendan Gleeson on fine form as the lead character, an ex cop, and Harry Treadaway as Mr Mercedes being suitably creepy and unhinged.

As far as sci fi goes, it's hard to beat the expanse for a decent show, it does improve season on season as well.

I have high hopes for this becoming Amazon's flagship series to try to take on Netflix and HBO. Jeff Bezos is apparently a big fan of the books.
