Getting into season 3 of Bosch, and its taking shape nicely again.

Up to season two of Strike Back, good to see some familiar faces in it.

I agree, watched it recently and found it such a waste of time, if they make anymore they need to get new writers in.

Just finished watching "Continuum" - really excellent time-travel fare - rather different and some superb scripting, acting and SFX.

Now just starting "The 100" - so far very promising!

So much great drama these days... I barely watch movies anymore.
So clever my foot fell off.

Strike Back gets sillier and sillier and sillier by the series.

I saw something suggesting it's been recommissioned with a new cast too... God alone knows what that'll be like!

I will, though, check out Bosch S3, I enjoyed the others.

The Honourable Woman has me absolutely gripped at the moment. Not the easiest thing to follow but very addictive.

Born to Kill has caught my attention, the main character is a very dark, twisted and generally f***ed up young man indeed. Little Boy Blue, based upon the killing of 11yr old Ryhs Jones in 2007, is doing a great job of recreating just how horrific the killing was.

American Gods shows promise. Seems to have caught the atmosphere of the book quite well.

Silicon Valley is back!!!! Once again I highly recommend watching. For fans Episode 2 of the season ranks up there as one of my all time favourites.

In the middle of Iron Fist - not really sure where it is heading if truth be told, but I've watched the rest so will persevere.

Finished Killjoys and Dark Matter - both fun Sci-Fi rides. 12 Monkeys is also on my list. Will be trying Continuum when I get time. The 100, for some reason I gave up after season 1, no real reason why. Maybe I'll pick it up again when I get time.

Not sure if it's been mentioned, but I just started Designated Survivor on Netflix and it's pretty awesome just a couple of episodes in! I'm hooked!

Yep - it's very good. If you like House of Cards and The West Wing, you'll enjoy it.

I really need it to finish before the new season of HoC starts. My little brain can't cope with two different POTUS and teams at the same time...

I dunno - it started off well but it's gone a bit naff after episode 12 or so. They just kind of dumb down a lot of things. I'm still plodding along with it, but they could/should have done so much more with the premises. Plus some of the obvious product placement going on is truly awful (the Ford stuff).

That thing where they started the car with the phone for no reason but to please Ford was mind-blowingly bad!

Haven't started on Season 2 yet, so hoping it doesn't go off the boil.

That phone thing sounds illegal in the UK, and pointless everywhere else...

I watched the first Blacklist last night. Bit cheesy, is it worth sticking with?!

  24. #724
Finished Bosch at the weekend. Good, but very samey. Also Hap and Leonard season 2, which was excellent. I can't decide whether to continue with American Gods. Didn't get the first episode at all. The Good Fight is pretty much as good as the Good Wife was.

I'm still with it. In season 4 now. It's all about James Spader really. If you like his acting you'll enjoy this. The plot lines are quite ridiculous but also I guess part of the fun with the series!

Agreed, I'm up to date and really look forward to the next episodes, this weeks was brilliant, it's hard to know whose side to be on, Axe is a ruthless bastard but his nemissis is also hard to like.
Im rooting for Axe to overcome.

New season of Fargo and Better Call Saul is on my list and a new series Genius.

    Anyone watched these already?

  28. #728
Really enjoying season 2 of Fargo.

    Some great acting.

Ewan McGregor in series 3 should ruin that though

  29. #729
Born to kill on channel 4 is excellent. Superb young actor in the leading role

  30. #730
Definitely look into Bosch if you havent already.
If you like slightly trashy kung fu/scifi/distopian watch Into the Badlands.
Man in the high castle is good in the first season but I'm struggling a bit with season 2.
The expanse - amazing scifi - watch it if you have Prime.

As I said a few posts back, the character he plays is pretty messed up! The way the last episode ended I fear for the life of just about everyone, I wouldn't be surprised if his GF's nan is next on the list. He's potentially found an ally in his father, will his GF turn or will she be his saviour? All in all, very dark stuff, and I agree ref his acting- he'd scare the crap out of me if he was my son.

Re Blacklist, I couldn't have put it better myself. I enjoyed the first few series but the last one seemed to lose its way a bit. IMHO Spader remains superb but the writing needs to improve.

EDIT: Just done some digging and realised that Season 4 didn't finish at Ep15 as I had thought - it's a second bloody mid-season break with more to come later this month! Talk about how to pee off fans of the show.

I swung the other way on this. Really enjoyed season 1, gave up on season 2 after 2 shows but looking forward to season 3.

Whilst I thiught Iron Fist was initially very good, it soon turned into a bit of a farce.

I have just seen the advert for The Defenders, and it looks like Danny Rand will be able to redeem himself. The show looks pretty good all round judging by the advert and the cast.

Now, if you'd like to see a martial arts loosely themed show, have a look at Into the Badlands. Very good show, especially the first 6 episodes.

I do know what you mean, but stick with it.
It is a slow-burner, but builds well and remains one of my favourite series ever.

    The Night Of

'The Night Of' was recommended to me by a friend and it was a fantastic watch IMHO.

Very dark, tense and moody, but I couldn't wait to watch the next one straight afterwards.

I loved season 2 of Fargo, thought it was better than season 1. Looking forward to season 3.

Better Call Saul gets better every episode, I think I almost prefer it to Breaking Bad!

Does anyone know if they are making another season of The Bridge?

I watched and enjoyed the entire "Quarry" season here in the U.S.

Even better are the Quarry novels, written over a stretch of many decades starting in the '70s. Max Allan Collins is a very gifted writer.

Bored to Death was good but it never got a fourth series and it could/should have.

Season 2 of Fargo is excellent and should be persisted with. I wasn't bored watching it at all.

13 Reasons Why is an interesting story about some difficult subjects and I actually think it had a pretty powerful ending. It's worth sticking with, with some good young actors in it and well worth watching.

I'm looking forward to season 3 of Fargo but I really hope it isn't a True Detective 2 with the inclusion of McGregor. I don't know what it is but, well we'll see.

I actually sat and watched Breaking Bad after all the hype died down and before that I had started season 2 already of Better Call Saul. Pleased I did that and in that order, but to anyone of the same mindset that couldn't be bothered with BB when it was all the rage, you won't be disappointed.

Tried watching Colony but I think the first 5 letters are more apt.

I have given up on Blacklist, the first series was good and the second was decent, but I've no interest in carrying on.

    I recommend 13 Reasons Why.

I've watched two episodes from Season 3 and McGregor fits into the 'Fargo' genre just fine!

You should also look at The OA. Just don#t blame me if you freak out at the ending. Lets just say season 2 had better have some answers....
