This may well have been mentioned but I'm not trawling through 112 pages to check... Ghosts on BBC iplayer is pretty good fun. I switch between loving and hating the actor who plays the male lead (some episodes he's wonderful, other episodes I wonder if he had to sleep with someone to get an acting gig).
Same team who make Horrible Histories but this is a bit more grown up. Short episodes, it's a great diversion of an evening.
Just seen the new season of Kleo. If you don't mind subtitles it is a cracking watch.
“Elementary” is an excellent take on Holmes. I really enjoyed it.
I can’t recommend the books highly enough - especially this bestseller:
The Lost Case Files of Sherlock Holmes: As Recorded by John Watson, M.D. https://amzn.eu/d/3JifUfC
😁😉
So clever my foot fell off.
I thought the Bear was sensational until series 3, but I've lost interest and didn't finish it. It's become an endurance test with its endless montages and literally nothing happening apart from running out of serviettes.
Currently watching series 1 of Tokyo Vice which so far is shaping up well.
Hoorah - The Mallorca Files back for a third season on Prime: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BgrmuKIRhHY
Currently enjoying "The Woman in the Wall" - not the easiest of subject matter, but Ruth Wilson is always great value, and made for this role, despite the accent...
Just finished Presumed Innocent on Apple+.
Very good IMO and worth a watch.
Daryl Dixon- I thoroughly enjoyed it, much more than the later seasons of Walking Dead. Awesome to see Carol make an appearance, looking forward to future episodes.
Lots to say about the show and the characters, especially Daryl and his development through the season, but this is not the thread for it.
All round excellent.

Started The Outsider (based on the Stephen King novel) on Now TV, about 3 episodes in and pretty good so far....
Just finished The Night Talker and really enjoyed it, exceeded my expectations.
I watched High Country on iplayer, which was really good although could have been finished in few episodes

Series 4 of slow horses starting on September 4th.
Indeed excellent news.
Didn´t find time to watch last night but a Detective Comedy show called Bad Monkey featuring Vince Vaughn turned up on the system...might have `potential.
Looks good and I can’t wait, trailer here: https://youtu.be/JgmPnXCWivA?si=G3nHcAEKlc1oKVSX
Started watching Irvine Welsh's Crime from ITVX. Gritty cop tales set in Edinburgh. Accents can be broad and hard to follow sometimes but, overall so far I like it.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
6 episodes in and 2 to go for Leonardo on Amazon Prime.
Nicely paced show with some good performances from most of the cast.
Makes a nice change from some of the overly complicated shows out there, with an interesting look into renaissance life in Italy during that period.
Recommended for an easy watch if that’s what you’re after.

Very late to the party but just signed up to appleTV and started on Ted Lasso. Love it, Hanna Waddingham is brilliant.
Just watched Mr Inbetween in a week. To sway I enjoyed it is an understatement.
The ending was absolutely brilliant, and i believe the creator has turned down several offer to make a 4th series.
Thoroughly enjoying For All Mankind on Apple TV.
Excellent production, great characters and performances.
I do like these alternate timeline stories of actual historic events ( eg. The Man in the High Castle )
Only 4 episodes in, lots to go, but so far very good.

For All Mankind is excellent throughout.
So clever my foot fell off.
Having enjoyed Netflix’s Dallas Cowboys cheerleading series ‘America’s Sweethearts’, we progressed to the two earlier series of ‘Cheer’, about competitive college cheerleading. You’re probably thinking a cheerleading series isn’t for you, but give this one a chance, as it’s not some staged Selling Sunset style shouting match, and the sport of competitive cheerleading is not at all what you might expect - prepare to be very impressed by some serious skills. It turns out to be one of the best sports documentaries out there, with a powerful emotional arc across both series. While we’re largely unaware of it in the UK, it made stars of many of its young participants in the US, with consequences that are examined in season two. I’ve rarely felt so nervous watching TV as in the run up to the finales of each series, it’s quite a ride.
Finished "The Outsider" on Now TV - we enjoyed it and something a bit different. If you like Stephen King stuff, then you're bound to like it.
Hmm. Sort of semi watched this but my wife was engrossed - naturally pretty slightly too thin athletic blonde girls doing cartwheels and dancing with fixed smiles - check. Too much hair and make up, worried about their weight - check. Grizzled older ex-cheerleaders with bad face lifts - check. They all go to church and love mom and dad, then I zoned out. Seems like sexist outdated razzmatazz from the 70’s taken much, much too seriously imho?! But then I’m not American and I find American Football very peculiar so I’m probably not the target market!
I think perhaps you’re referring to the recent series America’s Sweethearts, about the Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders. It was good, but Cheer is next level. As one cheerleader says at the start, the DCC type cheerleading is ‘just dancing’, while what they do is something else entirely, involving ‘flyers’ being thrown high in the air, and occasionally landing on their heads. The athleticism and determination is impressive, while the troubled backgrounds of many of the kids, and the redemption they find in their team makes it frequently moving. It’s a surprisingly thoughtful, compassionate documentary that very effectively captures the hard work, tension and exhilaration of competition. All in all a lot more than I was expecting from a series about cheerleaders!
I have to agree.
We watched Cheer a while back and it was MUCH better than I was expecting. We found it was utterly fascinating. Some of the things they were able to do were incredible and it quickly became addictive watching.
It is of course very 'American' (too many self-congratulatory high fives, back slaps and 'wooh - yeah!' etc), which you have to just accept.
I haven't seen the American Sweethearts, but Cheer is certainly worth a watch.
Gone Fishing it is NOT.
Just finished the latest season of Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders and can recommend.
A rather scathing article on cheerleading and the TV shows for the fans.
Worth a read.

Cheers,

Douglas is cancelled, very good, very apt, cringey to watch but excellent acting.
