The BBC mini-series The Salisbury Poisonings in on Netflix now. Worth watching if you haven't seen it (even if you know the ending ).

Talking of old series, the first seven seasons of Columbo are on Amazon (at least on Amazon France) and I have been watching them one by one from the very first episode - which was directed by Stephen Spielberg. They are still great and have stood the test of time very well.

I realise this is the 'good series' thread, but just as a head-up. We finished 'Stay Close' on Netflix last night.

It was tolerable (just about), but was really not very good at all. So many plot holes and daft story lines it was just not believable - even in a TV way.
    Its a 3/10 from me.

I think I mentioned similar about Stay Close earlier in this thread. Only got past 1.5 episodes before I gave up!

I wish I were able to give up when they were not that great!
We were both pleased it was over when we finally got to the end. I just kept hoping it was going to get better but it never did.

Just watched Hawkeye and that was surprisingly entertaining. Afterlife and Ozarks on Netflix of course. Might try the Expanse on Prime, gets really good reviews.

Ah pity. I'll watch this week with low expectations.

Yes to all those, but gutted ozark has gone for a Part 2 season split for later in they year! Still can’t take anything away from the first instalment! Superb!
Afterlife is genius work, always makes me a little sad though. I do see the office character parallels when I watch it, but loved that show also!

Euphoria, if it hasn’t been mentioned is very good, if a bit rude in places, quite an eye opener on how things are for the young uns today. Season 2 has developed very well. A high 8/10 from me.

1883, (Yellowstone spin off) still fantastic show, again another high 8/10

Yellow jackets, watched the first episode? Not pushed to watch the rest just yet, seems very lord of the flies type of storyline. May revisit it, not sure yet.

I’ve been putting the final season of the expanse off, but now about to binge this one this week. Also the new boba fet show, still to watch. Will keep you updated.

Watched the last Afterlife episode last night, wow, must have had something in my eye. Brilliant series.

Available on iPlayer if anyone wants to see it.
I'm halfway through it (and a Coen Bros fan). It certainly has something of the Coen Bros about it and I'm definitely enjoying it.

Probably old hat now, but we’ve just found ‘Goliath’ with Billy Bob Thornton, surprisingly really good and well written and acted, lots of really funny bits too.

After watching, and thoroughly enjoying the last season of Afterlife, I decided to give Derek a go.

I didn't think it would be any good by the premise and the picture of Ricky in his role on the Netflix selection button, but lordy lordy was I mistaken.

Funnier than Afterlife, not so poignant, but more touching and thought provoking, especially as to how we treat each other as humans.

Absolutely recommended, Ricky is a true genius.

    Kev, aka Brian, is superb

Peacemaker which is a spin off of the remake of The Suicide Squad is really good. If you liked the violence and humour of the movie this is all that and with more heart. John Cena is superb and it is genuinely brilliant!

    I've enjoyed it. Surprisingly.

Just finished watching The woman across the street on the train (or something like that!). Parody of the genre implied by the title. On Netflix.
    Pretty good!

The Responder on Iplayer is good.

Just watching Criminal: UK/Germany/Spain/France atm on Netflix. Interesting concept.. standalone episodes set in same interrogation room for all countries. Great actors and writing. Try it, only 45mins each one.

  48. #3798
Jumping in with a few quick “very good series to watch”:

    Murdoch Mysteries
    QI
    Vera
    Vigil
    Father Brown
    Station Eleven

Lots more… later if these are in.

Watched 2 episodes of peacemaker last night, great recommendation mate. Felt very deadpooly with a twist of the boys thrown in. Enjoying this one.
