Just watched first season of Goliath. Very good show indeed.
CRASHING
Anyone who enjoyed Fleabag may want to check out this earlier PWB effort: the lives, loves and nonsense of 20-somethings in London, pretty witty.
Just six parts of 25 mins each so a quick run, available on C4 online
Just watched first season of Goliath. Very good show indeed.
current favourites are the latest Ray Donovan series, and bbc's The Capture (only just got recommended to me and it's gripping)
I watched the first few episodes of Fleabag and didn't find it particularly original or indeed funny. It tries way too hard to land the punchlines and, to me, it's a rip-off of This Life - which is far superior.
I finished S1 of Amazon's Jack Ryan. It's typical Tom Clancy, jingoistic, US propaganda, rubbish - but is nevertheless entertaining in the absence of anything else to watch.
Did anyone else watch 'Traces' on Alibi last night? Heard a lot about it before hand, but found it to be a bit slow and the lead character seems to be playing gthe same part as she did in 'Liar'
Would welcome other opinions before I ditch it

im quite enjoying v wars on netflix at the minute

*LOL beaten to it!
Just discovered Cobra Kai, always knew Daniel san was a dick
The good doctor is well worth a watch
Just watched After Life on Netflix. Simply brilliant
Oooooooooozark. Great watch.
The fourth, and final season of The Expanse is now on Amazon.
A quite remarkable production and epic story - not a lightweight watch though.
So clever my foot fell off.
For all mankind is a really good new series.
I'm addicted to 'Resurrection Ertugrul' on Netflix. Turkish period drama set in 14th century about the Turkish conquests. Based on their history. Obviously an expensive production. Beautiful sets and costumes. Plenty of Turkish rugs and Arabic horses. Nasty characters, great acting and tempered violence. Ten times better than fantasy based 'Game of Thrones' in my opinion. I'm getting behind with my work because if it ! But who cares. I'm Joe 90 with my 3D TV and spectacles.*Look out for real nasties Noyan and Emir Sadettin. Really compelling actors you will hate ! And it makes a real change from all that American mind numbing crap.

The first season is a slow-burn but really good if you keep going. It also builds the setting for what could be one of the best sci-fi series ever. I would compare it to a mixture of Blade Runner, Outland and BattleStar Galactica.
IMO, season 2 doesn't quite live up to that promise, but season 3 starts to pull things back in the right direction. Neither of them quite hits the mark overall, but each has some stand-out episodes. There's enough going on that I have high hopes for season 4 living up to my early expectations.
With Star Trek having turned into hot garbage, it's absolutely the best sci-fi series being made right now. No doubt about that.
I rather enjoyed the first series, the second less so, and gave up in the third - it seemed they'd started padding it out with new characters and side stories, and just wasn't very focussed any more.
A couple of side issues; Shohreh Aghdashloo annoys me (has done since she was in 24), and I have real trouble with a futuristic sci-fi series having a main character called Fred.
Nothing at all wrong with the series though - it's me, not it.
Just on to episode 3 of Mindhunter on Netflix. Very impressed so far.

Started watching Giri/Haji on iPlayer. It's a story split across London and Tokyo about police, the criminal underworld, corruption, family, and more besides. Very good so far, intrigued to see where it goes!

Just started series 3 of The Marvelous Mrs Maisel on Amazon. I just love the choreography and pace of the show.
I understood season5 began production in October

Watchmen - bloody amazing. One of the best things I've seen, bonkers in places but still fantastic
Just watching "Don't f**k with cats : hunting an internet killer" in Netflix - well worth a viewing.
Been watching “The Boys” on Amazon. Superb series,
Hopefully the Boys and Watchmen will be back next year.
Tried the first episode of the Witcher yesterday, pheweee cheesier than a whole wheel of Stinking Bishop.
Recently finished S2 of Jack Ryan on Amazon. An unflushable turd.
While S1 was a mediocre way of passing 45mins, S2 is abysmal. It is unadulterated US propaganda nonsense. Avoid.
Just finished watching “The Morning Show” on the new Apple TV platform. Very enjoyable
I agree, not sure if it was just me but I found the actor was really awkward, he was a bit like a cart horse in some scenes. Unlike how he’s portrayed in the books etc. He somehow just didn’t seem to suit the part at all well.
Similar to the spy with SBC (thoroughly enjoyed by the way) there were a few scenes where he was walking fast/running and all I could think of was Borat!
Somethng else worth considering is ‘the Orville’ space sci fi comedy with a serious twist thrown in. Bloody brilliant!
Recently I've finished:
The Mandalorian: superb, can't wait for 2nd season. Star Wars with a Western vibe, it has great characters, action, and a good few laughs.
Watchmen: I really enjoyed the film, and the TV show is even better. A mind-bending, swirling, twisting, genius of a TV show. The source material is famously difficult to portray, but they've done a brilliant job with a fresh take on the stories.

Ozark is a great watch - season 3 will be along before too long on Netfix.
Lost in Space, great acting, superb sets and good family action and fun. As good as the first season!
I’ve just started Messiah on Netflix although I’ve just discovered it was liked by critics.
Justified on Prime video - I remember watching S1 on TV when it first came out but missed the rest. I've found it strangely therapeutic for some reason or the other.
