Just finished watching the latest series of Spiral on BBC4, well worth a watch if you like gritty French cop shows, which I do!

Another vote for the Watchman, very intriguing.
Been binge watching This Is Us on Amazon and can say it’s one of the most poignant and well acted dramas i’ve seen in a long time. It follows a family from just before the birth of triplets, adoption and onwards through their lives, the Individual stories segue beautifully. The narrative jumps seamlessly from past to present, superb acting on the whole and a real tear jerker.
I'm two episodes into The Devil Next Door on Netflix. It's a very well put together documentary series, really enjoying it.
Just finished watching S2 of Jack Ryan - pretty disappointed tbh. A load of American gung-ho boy's own comic stuff.
Started watching it in bed last night and from what I saw I liked it, but inevitably fell asleep about a quarter of the way through.
I really enjoyed season 1 and was excited at the prospect of season 2 being released. However, I'm about halfway in and can't really be bothered to watch the rest - seems to have lost its mojo.
S2 of ‘Motherland’’ on BBC IPlayer is a decent funny watch, about a bunch of parents with primary school age kids trying to get through the day, lighthearted fun.

Enjoying series two of 'the young offenders'.
"Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. The third time it's enemy action."
'Populism, the last refuge of a Tory scoundrel'.
Just completed the final season of Man in the High Castle.
I enjoyed it, but it wasn't quite up there with the previous seasons. It was always going to be a difficult story to wrap up to the satisfaction of everyone, but it definitely had it's moments.
So clever my foot fell off.
I see a few others have commented positively on Atypical, which is on Netflix. I started watching the first season a couple of days ago and ended up binging the whole thing last night.
It's one of those rarely gentle, yet also hilarious comedies. The various side-plots & some of the secondary characters are a bit cheesy and predictable, but I suppose that's part of what makes it so easy to watch. It's probably not a 100% accurate portrayal of ASD either and some of the "educational" exposition is a bit overdone, but on balance it seems to handle it well.
Overall, one of the best comedies I've seen for some time. I'm glad others have said good things about the other seasons as I'm now looking forward to watching those next.
Not a series just a one off that was rather enjoyable.
Greg Davies: Looking for Kes.

For all you star wars fans out there, it's got to be "The Mandalorian"
Absolutely terrific, no pretention, no moralising just hard nosed gritty personalities with backstories.
I loved the bit where Gilou and the judge come out of the bar and just take a piss before getting him into a cab.
Contrast John Deed and the british "establishment" :-)

The Morning Show on Apple TV + is excellent. Really well written and acted.

Excellent and i believe series eight will be aired in 2020
I FEEL LIKE I'M DIAGONALLY PARKED IN A PARALLEL UNIVERSE
'The end of the fxxxing world' - just brilliant!
Someone who lies about the little things will lie about the big things too.
Just finished Narcos Mexico S1 which was very good if you don’t mind the subtitles.
As per the above posts Spiral is great and The Young Offenders is watchable too.

Wanted - Damasko DC57
Anybody watch “Upright” on Sky Atlantic? I’ve watched the first episode and thought it was quite good.
Been watching ‘Power’ on Netflix a lot. Was introduced to me recently.
For zombie lovers, Black Summer on Netflix, https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8923854/. Fastest zombies I've ever seen - manic zombies. Second series has been announced.
FLEABAG
Just binged the lot, easily the best show I’ve seen in a long time. Clever, sad and chokingly funny.
PWB is a genius, no surprise how high she’s flying now.
On BBC iPlayer
8 Days is worth a watch, its German so subtitles but very enjoyable
Upright.
Tim Minchin on a road trip that gets progressively more surreal and funny, has a real emotional ending too. Beautiful piece of television.
That sounds worth checking out Tiny, did you see it on Netflix? I quite like TM but have lost track of his more recent work.
This programme has recently been rebroacast (iPlayer) but I remembered that I'd already posted about it in another thread;
...so you've got another 29 days if you missed it first time around.
I'm watching Star Wars Disney TV series - The Mandalorian.
It's better than most recent star wars films apart from Rogue One.
Based around the Mandalorian Bounty hunters (think Boba Fett) after the events of Return of the Jedi. The themes of westerns with Eastwood or the overtones of a Japanese Ronin are ever present . It's further away from the Empire and closer to the first order but doesn't have all dark and light sides of the force and the connotations of that apart from a being of Yodas race who is a baby and displays force powers. At half an hour per episode it's great to watch and almost reminds of the TV serial shows where a whole mini story is wrapped up in a small amount of time yet still telling an overall bigger picture as the program progressed. A bit like Michael knight and his ongoing journeys during the course of Knight rider.
Anyway ...It's excellent especially if you like Star wars and plenty of nods to the first three.
