Designated survivor is shaping up nicely. Just watch two episodes of Chance starring Hugh Laurie. Pretty good thriller so far.

After one episode, The Night Of is looking promising.

Just finished watching "The Jinx - the life and deaths of Robert Durst" a six parter that's another case of real life being stranger than fiction. If you liked Making a Murderer or similar documentaries you should enjoy this - I wouldn't read up on it too much before hand or it might spoil it.

Also thoroughly enjoying the current season of South Park (season 20 now?!) which as usual is very topical and satirical and most of all very funny. Member berries, genius.

Anyone mentioned Braquo is back on tomorrow?

Nice one, season 4 - I'll be tuning in to that although I have to say it's got weaker each season as its went on with season 1 still being the best in my opinion.

I kind of agree, although I think the 2nd series did an excellent job of maintaining the standard.

I'm still unreasonably excited about its return (and supposedly this is the last series, so they won't flog it to death like the Americans do... ).

Finished 'a night of' last night and thoroughly enjoyed it, some great performances and although the main storyline was a tiny bit lacking it was fluid and enjoyable to watch

    'The Night Of'...thoroughly recommended.
Note: Not the original, as that was rubbish.

    Just watching Start-Up on Amazon.

Other than the pointless sex scenes shoe horned in, its very, very good.

    Martin Freeman is brilliant.

If anyone has watched it yet, how did episode 5 make you feel? Incredibly well built tension imo.

"Good Behavior" looks promising. It's new on TNT cable channel in the U.S.

One of the absolute best series of that era IMO - pretty much superb from start to finish.

We just watched the entire series after recording it a while ago.

Really enjoyed it. John Tuturro is always good, but the rest of the cast were great as well. Nice to see Brit Riz Ahmed doing well.

We also binge-watched Billions - another great cast, even though the story was a bit cliched and soapy for me. (Full of stereotypes, with dark secrets to conveniently exploit when the story required it).

I see the 3rd set of the Jack Taylor stories starts tonight, and although its the ex Policeman heavy drinking , women trouble, etc... it is very well done an Iain Glenn is excellent in the role worth a watch

Woohoo, season 3 of Ray Donovan just added to Netflix. Looks like Katie Holmes is shaping up to be his new knobsocket.

Forget Westworld, so slow and boring that we didn't even get to the end of the first episode.

Totally agree, episode 5 was incredibly tense, a real boiler. Great to see Martin Freeman playing against type too.

I don't want to give any spoilers but wow. I can still feel that hit! Freeman really was excellent.

For anyone struggling to find something to binge on, do give it a go and persevere through the first 2 episodes, it's a huge grower.

Half way through this and it's very good. BBT is excellent (as he was in Fargo) and the plot has thrown some curve balls. I hope the quality continues to the end.

Very good imho. Completely worth all the time I've spent waiting for the buffering...

I can't agree, I got the DVD off eBay and we watched the first 3 episodes (of 5) last night and found it faster moving and more intense than the recent 10-parter.

IMO I thought the acting was dreadful.
I would like to have seen the reaction from the cast of 'The Night Of' when they viewed it for research purposes.

Thanks to those who recommended, Goliath, really enjoying the show, its very well written, and it's great to see, Thornton having a lead role, I loved his performance in Fargo.

Late to the party, but I am really enjoying Rectify. Beautifully written, directed and acted. Although I am not big fan of drama, this one just clicks, really slow moving but it does not let your interest slip for a second.
Originally, the main character was supposed to be acted by Walter Goggins of Justified fame.

I finished Narcos the other day and Netflix suggested this:

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2187850/?ref_=nv_sr_1

Highly rated on IMDB but there is 74 hour long episodes on Netflix......................

Designated survivor was promising on the beginning, but the latest ep's are rather annoying to me.
Chance is interesting, This is us is surprisingly good, The crown is too early to say after 1 ep, but promising.

On my list, but haven't started yet:
    Mars
    Incorporated
    Good behaviour

If you like sci-fi The Expanse was good...first few episodes are stunning, then it loses it's way a bit before building to an interesting finale.

If you like science fiction than maybe you will be interested in Westworld, very good cast, writing and direction.

  44. #394
Getting in to a new Netflix series filmed in Brazil, The 3%. Not an entirely original concept of a utopia and tests to become a memeber but it looks stunning.

  45. #395
Just started witching Mars, 3 episodes in and loving it. Really cleverly put together,so it is both science fact and science fiction

  46. #396
Started watching "Shooter" on Netflix - 4 episodes released so far, little clichéd in places, but very watchable.

One of the best TV drama's I have ever seen.
