Quit now while you have the chance, it's beyond terrible which is hard to believe considering it was written by Iannucci and has a decent cast. Utter garbage

Great spot! Watched the first series and thought it was excellent.

Russian Doll was very good, but there isn’t a second season yet that I can see?

Tiger King on Netflix, American meth smoking mullet wearing gun toting redneck amputees open a zoo with 200+ tigers and much batshittery ensues. What's not to like

I thought Season 2 was just released but I was wrong. Filming was to begin in New York City March 30, but now that has been postponed indefinitely.

Second series (I refuse to say season) is on sky. Even has watch references in the first episode - first time I’ve heard Gerald Genta mentioned on TV

"The Nest" a five parter which started on BBC two nights ago looks pretty good judging by the first episode. Didn't think it would be my cup of darjeeling, but thoroughly enjoyed it.

Watched this last night & had me laughing - all parents should watch!

Season 3 of Ozark airs Friday on Netflix - very good series.

Watched Locke and key - it was entertaining at first, but after episode 6 or 7 it went into some stupid teen horror movie.

Halfway through a couple on Netflix-

Freud - a Netflix Austria original series. Well odd, all I can say is if you liked Penny Dreadful you'll probably like this. The main actress even bears (and bares) a striking resemblance to Eva Green.

The English Game - written by the same fellow (in fact Fellowes) behind Downton Abbey, all about the early days of the Football Association and the F.A. Cup at the end of the 19th century, when the game was dominated by teams of public school oldboys but who faced an increasing challenge from clubs of working men's teams from the north (Preston North End, Blackburn, etc) and, horror of horrors, paid players ruining the amateur game.

I gave up half way through the first episode. It felt like a series for young adults, and as you say didn't make a very good job of blending genres.

Yep, I finished it. Not bad, but not great - a little unsatisfying, perhaps trying too hard to be different.

Fun fact - the original graphic novel it is taken from was written by the vocalist from the band Chemical Romance.

The English game sounds interesting, I'll have a peek at that.

Can someone recommend some good comedy tv series they have seen lately? We have been watching too many series about murders and missing kids, could really use more cheerful shows but struggling to find any recent ones (have seen most of the older shows).

New series of Friday night dinner starts tonight. No good for binge watching, of course.

    Still Game is good.

Both series of Flight of the Conchords on Sky box sets.

Just watched first two episodes and forgot how great it is. If you like shows like Father Ted and you haven’t seen this it’s well worth a watch.

Absolutely brilliant isn't it? Incredible access Netflix have negotiated there, and it's beautifully shot.

Doesn't matter how much or little you are into F1 - it is one of the very few "behind the scenes" shows I've ever found absolutely compelling.

These days I found it much, much more interesting than the actual F1 season.
So clever my foot fell off.

I know it's been mentioned already but Hunters is absolutely superb. The best thing I've watched in a long time. This is the measure to all other shows now.

Not really new, but fairly recent:

Norsemen on netflix is hilarious. Not to be mistaken with Vikings.
Perpetual Grace, Ltd is a great show with Ben Kingsley. I’m only halfway through, but it’s excellent so far.

  29. #2779
Yeah , love Norsemen. Its a shame there is only two series at the moment.

Its also impressive that the actors film the scenes twice, one in Norwegian and again in English!

I watched Norsemen last year, hilarious indeed! I'm really hoping they make more.

Just watched "Hyperdrive" the new car racing challenge series on Netflix.

Great fun, although the US hosts are pretty annoying as they usually are.

Very inventive and spectacular courses, amazing driving skills, and clearly a lot of money thrown at the show.
So clever my foot fell off.

Yeah, loved it. Very enjoyable, and different. The boys is also worth a watch, they were out around the same time I think.

Alma's not normal on BBC 2 last night, enjoyed every minute but that just might be my sense of humour.

The annoying lady off the sun bingo advert actually turns out be be pretty funny and a great singer.

Yes, had these on DVDs for years, great viewing - Black Books is a series that doesn't get much attention these days, equally good, IMO.

I've watched a few of these episodes over the last couple of evenings & like you wasn't sure after the first.
It gets more engaging as it goes along - mapping out the season & profiling teams, drivers etc.

If any of you are history buffs and have an interest in the American Revolution and George Washington in particular, the History Channel produced a six-hour mini-series called Washington that aired recently in the U.S. and is available for streaming on demand here:

    https://www.history.com/shows/washington

It's a very interesting character study of Washington the man, and the very fragile state of the American colonies before, during, and after the Revolution.

Postscript: I didn't realize (or had forgotten) that Washington was a Colonel in HRM British Colonial Forces until he resigned his commission in frustration in 1758!

Started watching Homecoming on Amazon Prime yesterday. Not sure if it's been mentioned before but it really is very good indeed (I'm 4 episodes in and with half-hour episodes its very easy to binge-watch).
