Ive just started watching 'The shooter' on Netflix. Not bad - a bit like the fugitive. Basically a top US sniper is set up when some other organisation kills a president.
Really enjoyed "Waco" - well worth a watch in my opinion

Quite enjoyed The Rain on Netflix
Watched the first few episodes of Mortimer & Whitehouse : Gone Fishing at the weekend and I must say I'm enjoying it!
It's vaguely reminiscent of The Trip but more natural, obviously. It's basically just Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse heading out into the countryside to do some fishing and talk about stuff, often relating to their shared heart issues, which is what brought them together.
I'm not a fisherman and have no particular interest in it but the series is charming and the scenery often very beautiful. The interaction between the two comedians is always amusing and I find myself smiling through the whole episode and sometimes laughing out loud!
Whitehouse is the fisherman and spends half his time coaching Bob who, in return, organises their accommodation, knocks-up the odd heart-healthy meal and asks lots of stupid questions!
It's probably not for everyone but I'd recommend it, especially for those of us of a certain age who enjoy some gentle humour and can relate to all their aches and pains and tablet regimes!
Been couple of good series on BBC2 Sundays.
'Russia with Simon Reeves' followed by 'The Misadventures of Romesh Ranganathan'.
Think they've both ended but on iPlayer.
Watched a few episodes of Get Shorty over the weekend. I really enjoy Elmore Leonard's writing so was curious to see how this adapted to the small screen. Rather good once you get used to the chap from The IT Crowd playing against type.

Gold are showing both series of Early Doors re-runs starting tonight, one of the best comedies ever made
To the Regiment!
Started watching Orphan Black. Well worth watching with a good dose of mystery and humour. Great acting by the lead actress.
Australian series "Wolf Creek" is quite good if a bit gory.

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
Has anyone compared the different versions of 'The Bridge' to know which version is better?
I was trying to catch up on the BBC 2 iPlayer (Danish/Swiss version), but missed the cut-off, so can now only find the US version available to stream. Apparently there is a Canadian version too(?).
I suspect I may already know what the answer to this one might be...
Has anyone watched "Eureka"? Any good?

Just finished 'The Alienist' and thoroughly enjoyed it. 8/10 on my very stingy scale. Thanks to those who recommended it.
As a matter of principle I watch the original Scandinavian, Israeli, etc., versions of series. I think it is nice to see actors you don't recognise - who seem more believable in their roles, and also nice to somewhere a bit exotic where the action is taking place, not just London, New York, Seattle, etc.
I made an exception for the Anglo-French series The Tunnel though, as Clémence Poésy is in the shortlist to be a future Mrs K.
Gone Fishing, Whitehouse & Mortimer absolutely brilliant!
I'm on season 6 of Suits, but it has well and truly jumped the shark.
Not a series but 'The zen diaries of Garry Shandling' is an absorbing and insightful documentary of one of the best comedians of the past few decades. A must for fans of 'The Larry Sanders show'.
Argh! I haven't got around to catching up on The Bridge yet. Was looking forward to it. How have a bit of spare time, so fired up iPlayer and it's gone!
Noooooooo!
Another shout for Orphan Black, the lassie who stars in doesn't half put a shift in playing umpteen cloned characters.
Great British Railway Journeys.
No better way to discover the UK from the comfort of your sofa, and learn some stuff too.
205 episodes is going to be a challenge though.
We have just watched the 1st and 2nd episodes of Succession on Sky Atlantic. A drama set around a media tycoon and his family, Brian Cox plays a Murdoch like patriarch who falls ill and leaves his children competing for power. So far so good.
My list for new stuff
Yellowstone -
sinner - season 2
Better call Saul season 4
Sharp objects -
I've just finished watching The Sinner. It's only and 8 part series, but it really is a gripping watch.
I just finished Marcella season 2. Not a lot of laughs and more red herrings than Billingsgate Market - kept me guessing right to the end.
Another vote for sharpe objects here!

"the night of"
Same guy that did the wire-done 4 episodes and it is very good.
John Turturro is excellent as a bum lawyer
Succession is very good if anyone is looking for something new
Made the fatal mistake of finding Better call Saul on Netflix very late last night and watched the first 3 of Series 4. Its superb as ever
Watched the first episode of "Condor" last night, loosely based on the Robert Redford film "Three days of the Condor". It shows promise.

It’s all back story and character building. Think the whole of season 3 or 4 is breaking bad was the same, very slow build to a crescendo. Filming is sublime. There’s a lot going on that the eye doesn’t see. Very clever filming.
Give billions a go if it hasn’t already been mentioned.
And Yellowstone really is worth a watch.
