    Fleabag

I thought I would really dislike this, but found myself binge-watching the entire two series over the course of the past few evenings.

The writing was really quite clever and the humour is quite blunt/dark at times. Stick with it as the characters unfold and the story improves as it goes along.

Its a BBC thing, so both series are available on iPlayer for a couple of months.

Just started the second season, already enjoying it, although it’s started to enter into the realms of “bizarre” which is interesting! Got me hooked. Makes a change from the usual regurgitated garbage on TV.
2nd series is mental. Wait till the octopus

    My wife loves that.

I've so far resisted it, I know I'd get sucked in!

"Don't forget the driver" started on BBC 2 yesterday. Toby Jones is in the lead role and jointly wrote the thing. Excellent in my view and another 5 episodes to come.

Band of Brothers back on again after a few years. Great series. How come Brit actors can speak Amurrican better than actual yanks?

This one completely missed my radar until I heard Kelly Macdonald on Radio 2 on Weds morning. Good to hear it is worth a watch.

    Now added to my list.

Scary to have it pointed out how long ago that Kelly Macdonald was in Trainspotting!

Started watching season 1 of Happy! this week. https://trakt.tv/shows/happy-2017

Quite original and weird. You need to park reality at the door when watching this but has an elusive secret ingredient that keeps me watching. Strange blend of fantasy and dark, gritty reality with larger than life characters.

Most of the time they couldn't get work here.
Especially black actors, Idris Elba in The Wire springs to mind.

Saw a trailer last last for 'The Looming Tower' that is now going to be shown on the BBC.

For anyone who couldn't get it on Netflix etc, it's a really good series to watch and I thoroughly recommend it. Jeff Daniels in particular is brilliant in it

Just finished Season 2 of "The OA" - uh, B minus, not sure I'll return for S3

Really enjoyed S1 of Killing Eve, S2 just started here. A plus!

Someone below mentioned The Americans, it was great and a nice capture of 1980's America (my restaurant company is featured in an episode in the last season, we're still in business)

I'm waiting on S2 of "McMafia" looks to be released in the UK first?

You think that being British, but many Americans think Dick Van Dyke did a good job in Mary Poppins.

All true! Cringe-worthy indeed. (the original and the awful remake)

But Andrew Lincoln portraying the accent of a Southern Sheriff is equally awful....

    Funny stuff right there.

I cannot understand why they get Brits pretending to be Americans and vice versa, aren't there enough actors to go round?

FWIW I always found Gwyneth Paltrow's English accent to be pretty good in her historical roles like Emma, and Shakespeare in love.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

Great, so is her English accent.

Not surprising considering her transatlantic upbringing.

The Enemy Within with Jennifer Carpenter (Dexter's sister Debra) is shaping up nicely.

Been watching "Murder in the First" this week. Forst episode was OK but then it picked up pace and it's very good.

Then I will be hunting out this

I'm quite liking it too but the sound mix seems odd, having to crank the volume to catch the dialogue.

The latest season of Bosch has appeared on Prime and was duly binged.

Not the strongest in terms of suprises or having to think too hard as to where it's going to go... but its like a comfy old pair of slippers that makes me smile. I love the lack of knuckle biting incredulousness one gets with some dramas, where you think "why did they do/say that? Isn't it obvious what was going to happen!?". Not so in Bosch, in my opinion! The reactions and dialogue seem a lot more relatable.

My claim to fame on a night out.

A poor attempt at dancing in a pub / club and noticed a very attractive young lady boogieing away with her friends. She bumped into me at the bar and I had to ask her if she was the rather lovely Honeysuckle Weeks of Foyle Fame. She was very flattered she’d been noticed as apparently didn’t happen a lot and was very gracious and friendly.

I wished her and her friends a lovely evening.

    A small World.

Watched it in three sittings with the final 2 episodes last night. Can't wait 'til season 3. I love the non-PC ness of the anti-hero Johnny (likes hot babes, muscle cars, martial arts, beer and Iron Eagle) even though I watch it with my kids (warning there is some swearing). We all sighed with having to wait another year.

Dead to me on Netflix- well worth a watch for no other reason than Christian applegate and Linda Cardellini - yum!

Me too, it's a series that flies a bit under the radar being as old as it is but it still looks great and has some of the best characters and dialogue going.

Hopefully the movie lives up to the series and ties some ends up.
