I haven't watched any of season 4 yet, anyone else seen them?

Is it as good as the others?

David Letterman has a new show starting on Netflix tomorrow “My next guest needs no introduction”.
Always been a Letterman fan (there’s a clip of when Trump was a guest and was slagging China for taking US jobs and Letterman pulled out some of Trumps ties with “made in China” on the label - the look on Trump’s face was priceless) so will be interested to see how good it is.

I started watching Lucifer last night on recommendation from this very thread. I must say it's really quite amusing and entertaining.

Why the hell have I not watched Parks and Recreation before now?? Despite being American and female, Amy Poehler is genuinely hilarious, plays her character to perfection here.

Mrs Banana and I are really enjoying Brooklyn Nine Nine at the moment - very funny, likeable characters, fabulous ensemble cast, and Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero) is not only brilliant but smokin' hot. Even the missus agrees.

Earlier in the week we watched The Miniaturist on Iplayer. An enjoyable two-parter with the fragrant Anya Taylor-Joy in the principal role and some beautifully designed though agreeably austere Flemish sets.
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

Having recently git Netflix and being a Marvel fan I have watched some of their series.
Iron Fist started off quite well but then went down hill.
    Luke Cage was pretty good.
Jessica Jones was very good with David Tennant as the baddy. A 2nd series is coming out soon.

punisher was very good, even the mrs was always asking to watch the next one
Unabomber was average, watched it to the end to see what happened but was not great
Sinner was also very good, its only 8 episodes and worth a watch

Any good New TV Series worth watching

A few episodes into season 2 of The Tunnel which is pretty promising. Love the two lead characters in this.

First two episodes of the current series of Inside No.9 have been very good. The last one was quite moving. All are currently available on BBC Iplayer.

La Mante is good enough. And now watching another French Netflix show called Frozen Dead. Excellently shot and an interesting plot so far.

Mr Robot is a good series. Just finished season 3. Can be heavy going at times and requires you to pay attention otherwise you can easily lose the thread of what is going on. Once you get it into it, it is thoroughly enjoyable and fascinating.

The use of surround sound in it (for those with 5.1 systems) is particularly good for a TV series.

For a lighter bit of entertainment you can dip in and out of, The Good Place is quite good. Only a few episodes in at the moment.

Just completed Ser 1 of The Fall (crime drama set in Belfast).

    (It's on Amazon Prime).

Great so far, and a departure from a lot of the 'boobs & bullets' type of American series

  28. #1278
Indeed an excellent series. Gillian Anderson's character is quite a man eater :)

'The Sinner' on Netflix is worth a moment of your time.

Only one season so far but it's been renewed for a second.

Hard Sun - all episodes available on iplayer - so much potential although the ending I quite liked but apparently there are 5 series planned!

    Derry Girls - brilliant!

I have just watched up to the end of Season 2 of Colony (season 3 due shortly).

A very interesting take on "grown-up" sci fi.

    Anyone else enjoying this one?

Have you watched 'Superstore' which is currently on every night on ITV2 of all places?
I gave it a punt over the holidays and myself and the Mrs are really enjoying it. An American show that likes taking a funny look / the piss out of America itself!

Just gone through both of those.... a French take on 'Scandinavian noir'. Generally a lot more guns involved and more beating up the suspects in the froggy offerings but not bad. Certainly a lot better than 99% of the rubbish 'cop' series from the US.

There's another new French series just been added to Netflix, The Break, that I might start tonight.

Been meaning to check out both of these. Black Mirror looks intriguing and was always as Star Trek fan and am missing some good Sci Fi in my life!

McMafia is pretty enjoyable. It's a lot like Billions IMO - cliched and by-numbers, but entertaining high-budget fluff. (James Norton is a bit weak as the lead - defintely no future Bond).

Watched all three series of The Bridge again, even better second time around.

    Damnation, on netflix :-

Seth Davenport is a man masquerading as a small-town Iowa preacher in hopes of starting a full-blown insurrection against the status quo. Focused on his mission, he is unaware that an industrialist tycoon has hired a professional strikebreaker named Creeley Turner to stop the uprising by any means necessary. But unbeknownst to those around them, these two men already share a secret, bloody past. This epic saga about the secret history of the 1930s American heartland centers on the mythic conflict and bloody struggle between big money and the downtrodden, God and greed, charlatans and prophets.

so far it has been excellent, quite of lot of sudden shocking violence but a good cast including Christopher Heyerdahl (the excellent "swede" from Hell on Wheels (another must-see series)) continue to impress.

    regards

    Saggs

Definitely. Much more like classic Star Trek (and obviously a link-in to an episode from the original series). They really need to keep away from space whales, singing trees and other weak plot-devices.

Banshee is very good, think the box sets are still on sky
