    Bristol / Glos / S Wales? GTG - Jan 28th

    Ladies and Gents
Time to organise another of these.
Usual venue, north of the M4/M5 interchange up the A38 so that everyone can get there from N,S,E and W.
Please PM if you haven't been before and you want to know the venue.

From memory, Thursdays are best for avoiding Weekend commitments, so how about 28th Jan? Please reply here with preferences, or even indicate that you can attend either.

Usual format, very casual, someone (at least) will be there from about 6.30 onwards.
Food is available and passable without being great.

    Dave

Right, failed the last time so very in this time. Either date is fine by me.

I'll aim for the 28th and skip a few hours of uni. Both should be fine though.

    Hi Dave, good idea.
As far as I know, either date will work for me.
Looking forward to catching up on the gossip.

Great, looks like we will manage a reasonable crew, with new and old (should that be more experienced?) attendees.

Looks like a general preference (Mike, Skier and, tbh me too) for the 28th, so let's firm up at that date.

I will PM details nearer the day, save them getting lost. By my reckoning it is somewhere between the lugs of OhDark30's W10.

I will bump this every now and again to make sure more see it.

Now only 2 days away, a final (few) bumps in case anyone else can make it.
I am e-mailing the venue to newcomers now.
    See you there.

Hear hear! Well worth the effort Dave, many thanks for arranging.
Good food and good company...plus some gorgeous and varied watches to now go off and research.....could get expensive!

Another good one, and nice to see a couple of new faces amongst the usual suspects!
Thanks to Dave for dragging us all together again.
Really like Mike's green Sub, but I'm absolutely not buying any more!!

See you all again soon I hope.

Has the pub sorted its beer yet? When Village and I came over three or so years ago there's a reason we spent the night drinking bottled stuff!

Don't know about the beer but it never feels very warm in there and it's usually pitch dark.
Other than that it's great and handy for most of us!

Bit short on options, I think there were just 2 or three different draught beers.

I'm choosing my words carefully here, and I really don't want to upset anyone. I realise that it is handy for most of you,and when me and foxy came up it was good to meet you all,but it really is a crap pub. Surely there is another one nearby?

They're not going to invite us back if they do go somewhere else, are they?!

I'm always happy to be judgmental about another pub

    This place looks good:

    http://www.oldspotinn.co.uk/beers/

    As does this:

    http://www.anchorinn-oldbury.co.uk/

There's also a chance any accommodation wasn't built by the people who did the sets for Prisoner Cell Block H.

We don't like change in these 'ere parts as I'm sure you know, however, the committee will give due consideration to your observations.

You're most welcome to come to sunny Hampshire for an exchange trip.

Some poor pictures will be up as soon as Photobucket is back online.

As for the pub, the food is certainly a lot better!
In one way it is good for us because it is so quiet but it is also very dark!

Perhaps somebody more local than me can check out other, brighter places, hopefully with secluded areas. We might get that lovely ale drinking couple back to see us!

    Mike,
I don't know how you managed such good results in those conditions, perhaps you can share some tips next time we get together.
Thanks for taking the time to get these up.
