SOTC- My starting point for 2016

I don't see much changing this year (said that for the last five years ) so we shall see.

Looking for a Bremont bracelet for my Solo is the current quest.

I would have some difficulty letting any of these go in the short term.

Anyway...some average pics taken earlier today.

PS..the last picture is mine from circa 2 years ago (a different watch) to illustrate how the Solo looks on the OEM bracelet.

Really lovely collection there; marvellous. The IWC is really growing on me, and I like the divisive date window!

That Bremont is lovely, really like the simplicity and the font especially.

Lovely New Year groupie. . Two I have previously owned and moved on, Mark XVII and PO are missed and I really do need to find a decent PO in 2016.

    Enjoy

Paul, this is my 4th PO and a genuine keeper. It took me quite a while to find a 2500 PO in excellent condition. The new 8500 series are too tall for my tastes. Really pleased with this one.

Thanks for all the comments :)

A really nice collection there, the Explorer is a watch I'd like to try someday, 36 or 39mm I haven't decided.

Very nice collection! Having never owned a Speedmaster I am thinking this will be the year I add one to my collection. All the best for 2016!

Seen Bremont in Banks Lyon, the Solo looks exceptionally nice on that leather strap.

Bremont as a brand get a hard time in this forum. Sometimes justified e.g. in house movement debacle. However, the Solo is really nice and very well put together. A classic pilot watch

Great collection, I haven't managed to like the any Bremont offerings yet but the rest are all pieces I'd be more than happy to own. Thanks for sharing pictures

I'm immediately struck by how similar in style the Bremont and IWC are. Without seeing them side by side I'd never have noticed...

    Lovely collection.

Lovely watches but how do you choose between them, especially the Explorer, Spitfire and Solo which are all quite similar?

Lovely stuff. Enjoy a well thought out small collection.

If you had to choose one between the bremont and IWC?

I don't see them as similar per se. They are all different sizes from the Explorer at 39 to 43 for the Solo with the IWC in the middle at around 41. Guess I like a certain type/style. They all get worn regularly with the IWC, Explorer and Speedy being worn to work.

Not sure I could at the moment. Depends on the day

I have had the XVII on SC a few times and always pulled it. Re the Solo I traded a similar model about 16 months ago and regretted it almost immediately and it took me quite a while to track my current one down.

Standard 3570.50 bought new in November 2014 just at the same time as Omega launched the box set and £500 increase.

I had a 3572.50 previously which has a display back. Thinking back I wish I went for the Sapphire Sandwich ie 3573.50

Makes sense and always a good idea to buy what you like. All lovely watches as I said and a great choice to e making each morning.

    All lovely watches, Michael.

Don't you fancy a bit of colour at some point though? In a collection like that, a few dial colour variations wouldn't go amiss.

Good all round collection that you have Michael, congratulations :)

Seeing your Solo, makes me hanker even more for the return of mine, especially as I haven't worn it properly yet :)

You seem to have very similar tastes to myself. I personally prefer the Solo on the leather strap as I do with all Bremont's really.

Their boutiques stock some very nice strap options too. A friend recently bought the canvas NATO. Sets off his U-2 a treat!

    Thanks Tony,

Hopefully, not too much longer for you to wait.

Funds are too low at moment but I think a yellow Aerospace would be ideal or a nice blue dial watch from either Omega or Rolex.

I do keep coming back to black dials but below are some of my watches which have gone over the years (wish I had keep the blue AT 2500).

Great collection! The Bremont bracelets are lovely things but I'm assuming quite rare if you're after a loose one used. They're too chunky for me - I can wear any of the 42mm Bremont cases (solo, MB, U2 etc) on leather or nato but the bracelet pushes it over the limit.

Great collection! You got 3 of my favorites of all times.
About black dials, what about a Breitling Transocean chrono?

Great quintet. I don't often have regrets about letting watches go, but the 2500 PO, Speedmaster and Mark XVII are three that sometimes cause a small pang of regret when I see them.

I agree with the comment about the Bremont being a beautie. Such a simple clean dial, and that chunky strap looks great too. Very nice collection. Even better if you'd kept the black Omega AT.
