Yes. Occasionally lower but often higher. Ones with auspicious dates (e.g. Gulf War) often go for more.

All watch prices have gone up tremendously in the last couple of years so I think G10s are simply tracking the rest. £75 for a nicely made quartz watch is hardly excessive nowadays, really.

Looks like I am off to make an eBay account then

See this thread, http://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.ph...s-still-to-run, for an apparently unremarkable 1982 Precista that went for £260. I've seen other seemingly unremarkable auspicious date G10s (both Precista and CWC) go for surprisingly high money since then.

wow last time I sold any I think there were about 30 to 40 quid, I was going to list these for the same price, glad I checked

I would think £40 to £50for a standard watch depending condition.

I would rather buy from you than eBay every time.

£80 for a Royal Marine issued G10, that's very cheap imo, to say they were only issued for a period of 12 months. I would have thought they would bring much more than that.

Would you happen to have a 2005 one that you would let go Andy? Been watching a few 2005's come and go on eBay for ~£45 but wasn't confident enough that they'd be any way decent. It's my sons birth year.

In my experience the watches that ramco sell are in good nick - certainly not battered so you'd be fine with an 05 piece from here.

Well, thanks to this thread, I am now the proud owner of one of Andy's 2005 G10's. My 10 year old son has earmarked it as his 1st birth year watch and he's chuffed to bits!

Looks like new that one from Andy, I must get mine out and start wearing them again.

I'm on Ramco's 'mailing list' in case they get any divers watches, Elliot who runs the watch sales is a nice chap.

I agree, £75 for a nicely made quartz watch wouldn't be too bad but...

They seem perfectly ok to me, to be honest.

I'm sure that water proofing is not as good as one might expect from a watch that could be worn in the field (hence the Eddie's comments about the PRS-10's improved water proofing) but as long as one is ware of that I don't think the build quality of G10s is particularly bothersome at a circa £75 price point in today's market.

They are a watch that you can pick up and wear without worrying about the occasional bump, whilst looking quite smart (on trend even! ), and at a good price for such a watch in today's market.

G10s are a great pick up and go watch and at £75, I still think they're good value. Ramco is a new one on me (and they definitely appear to be very reasonably priced).

They've been going for 20 odd years and must have shifted thousands of watches, I guess they have been under the radar until now.

They currently have over 1000 issued G10s to shift hence selling them in batches of 5.

  26. #26
Well if any one wants one you can have one of these for £50 shipped so pretty much matches their price

  27. #27
I just ordered a new one from silvermans.

Don't really get the appeal of "issued" personally.

I'd rather pay the extra for a fresh one.

In my case it was that I can sell an issued one for what I've paid for it, so if I don't like having an accurate, subtle watch I won't lose anything....

36mm measured from 2 to 8, excluding crown and crown guards. 38mm from 3 to 9, including the crown.

Just finished the battery change on my 6B (Air Force) Luminova date model. These don't have the battery hatch so you have to remove the whole caseback and unscrew the battery carrier. Very tight going back on but it's a clever design with the seal in a machined groove inside the middle of the caseback.

Fallen in love with it all over again. The rough cast/spark eroded finish on the hands, dial printing and quality of the case is just superb.

    What a cracker.

Wearing mine today, and a big blustery moustached colleague who happens to be ex-services spotted it.

Being a somewhat less than tactful sort he remarked "how did you manage to get a G10 for men Watch?

Ignoring the obvious insult, and my instincts, I just said I ordered it online from silvermans.

Interesting to me that he clearly assumed these were hard to come by for humble civilians like me. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of these which have been produced over the years were never sold to the military.

I never saw one when I was in, the chances of us getting anything issued like that was about zero.

they didn't even like to issue us boots when they where short so the stores looked good even if we
    didn't.
