    Working in Qatar

    Hello all

I may have an opportunity to work in Qatar.

I would be sincerely grateful if anyone could kindly give me some advise.

    Thanks in anticipation.

    Regards

    Roy

As long as you're not a Nepalese or Philippino labourer you might be OK ...

    Hi Roy,

I live and work in Qatar (and can confirm that beer is available). Not sure what advice you need but PM me with any questions and I'll respond as best I can.

    Cheers,

    Rob

    Same here.

Some people hate it, others love it, and your experience will depend very much on who you work for, how they treat you. I'm back to the UK tomorrow for Christmas, but PM me if you've any questions. I work in education, if it makes a difference!

I worked there for a while. I mostly enjoyed the experience and there are great financial opportunities to be had, which is the main attraction. Give it a go and make some cash
    However there are drawbacks
I didn't particularly enjoy the climate, the temps can be over powering, and some of the Expats I met in my industry were disresptful to the Indian and Phillopeano work force, that did not sit well with me.

Must admit I've been tempted to look. Prompted by my neighbour telling me her younger brother who has similar qualifications and does very similar work to me gets £600k pa tax free there!

    Hi all

I have resigned from my current role today and Doha now beckons.

It has taken a while but I have accepted the position in Doha and should be moving out in early December.

Many thanks to Rob and Walter for all your advice and thoughts. I will be in touch soon.

    Cheers

    Roy

Good luck, My brother in law is doing his 2nd stint out there and one of my best mates from Uni is also over there, both have only good things to say.
There's a lot to be said for a life in the Sun.
