Some great photos and some lovely looking cats here.

My parents had cats when I was younger. Then I got my own when I moved into my out and into my first house. Lovely, lovely cat. Had her for 15 years before she developed diabetes and then complications in the gut which soon brought about the end. That was 8 years ago. Since then I seem to have developed an allergy to cats (amongst other things), which is odd after living with them for 30 odd years. It's also frustrating as I love the little beggars. Such great characters. Devious yes, but entertaining and affectionate, when they want to be. I would love to have another cat, but I'll have to make do with your pics, so keep them coming!

Have you though of a Russian Blue? They are know to be good for allergy sufferers. I don't have allergies to them, I am more magnetised! But I can put you in contact with a breeder that could help you test ;-)

Mingus left us very quickly in 2015 aged 5. I think about him every day and was my little buddy... getting closer to bring another cat back into the flat now, but it left a deep hole when he left us.

thanks they are good buddies to eachother too - Milo is More a Tonkinese-tabby mix - they found him on a beach with 2 sisters who were more snow-shoe looking.... He is so so inteligent and communicative, he understands everything and very obedient

Four-month-old Dusty became the fifth member of the household on Monday (I haven't been able to take a decent photo yet as she keeps moving too quickly).

(Excuse the state of the carpet and skirting boards )

She was playing all night with us on Monday, then disappeared behind the freezer all day Tuesday, came out when the kids went to bed, disappeared again the following morning when they all came downstairs, came out again when they went to bed, but last night she came out to watch them eat dinner, and was out again to greet them this morning so we're all happy

Forgot a caption. This is Cracker who came to us with her sister Comet from Battersea. They're about as 'rescue' as they come - abandoned in a shoebox on the home's doorstep at 2 days old and hand-reared by the amazing team there. Consequently they're very friendly and very good with dogs - as you can see.

These are our 2 - Stevie and Wonder. We had been thinking about getting a pet for a while, however with our jobs, dogs are difficult, and with our home being close to a woods, coyotes and eagles tend to take most outdoor cats so they don't last long. We found these 2 through a local animal rescue centre, who had relocated them from Hawaii. They had been born blind, and had no takers, so were on the list to be put down. They got brought over to Seattle where we live, and we fitted the bill. We have no kids, and they can remain indoors, so the local predators aren't a concern. After having them for just under a month, they've figured out the whole house, and are doing amazingly well. They're just like any other 8 month old cat, in fact some ways they're more resilient. It's amazing to watch them learn a new room, and new things to climb on - we would be without them now.

Beautiful cats and a lovely story

Our old cat went blind and we did not know a thing for a while, because of he knew his way around the house, climbed to window sill (1 meter high) to drink (for some reason it was flower wase he prefered to bowl) and then jumped off it to the floor. I think we discovered that he was blind only after 6 month or so. Later he also lost his hearing. He died last summer and we still miss old bastard.

One of my girls had 4 kittens last night, under one of the arm chairs in the lounge. Its totally dark in there and she is still in there, all appear well.
From the left under mums back foot is a ginger and white, black and white, Tortie (I think), and a grey. 14 hours old when I took the snap, just quick, no flash to upset mum.

This mum done well. We gave the Tortie away to a local family so we still see her.

We kept Chester (ginger) Moonpie (grey) and Chevron (black and white). The picture below shows the mum but feeding another litter. Our other girl also had four kittens at the same time.
One died at 14 weeks that was hard to deal with. We gave two boys away Arthur and Merlin (black and white) and kept the girl Squeaka (black)

    We now have nine cats.

Bugger, That's sad Eddie, There was a spate of cats being poisoned with antifreeze around Sheff, Apparently cats like the sweet taste but don't realise it's not good for them

This is my little Max. He's awesome and adored, but is sadly showing his age and he has been a bit poorly of late. The prospect of no longer having him around is very worrying.

This is Onyx last year. A rescue cat and she's bigger now. I wasn't the biggest fan of cats but I have to say I do have a soft spot for her. How could I not!?

This is our latest addition from the RSPCA (also called Jasper like Eddie's ginger boy was)

The children love him as he's very playful. The resident old lady cat however (who despises the noisy children and won't have anything to do with them) is not yet a fan.

The house is currently divided into different territories for the two of them, with occasional supervised meetings. I think she'll come round eventually though...

I found my beloved but poorly cat apparently passed away on the floor. Thinking he was gone, I started wrapping him up in a blanket before he woke up. I was so relieved.

He’s been gone a few years now. I still miss him.
