    Show us your Cats!

Since there's a "Show us your Dog" thread its only fair that Cat lovers get the same i suppose.

    Get them posted up people!

1st of mine up is the lovely Lola, a red point Himalayan girl, who we unfortunately had to have put down not too long ago at 6 years old due to PKD. The most affectionate and well mannered Cat we've ever had.

2nd up is Rico, our big fat 6 year old Exotic Shorthair boy. Very affectionate but extremely nervous and skittish as you can tell from his startled expression!

Lastly is Opie, 1 year old British Shorthair boy and quite a handsome one at thet! Absolute headbanger, doesn't listen to a word you say and is in the middle of every bloody thing you try to do!

Tia gets annoyed if anyone spends too long on the computer ignoring her :)

    and Ronja

Both are from the shelter so we don't know the exact ages but my guess would be between 4 and 8 years.

    Lottie:

She's a rescue cat who was living wild having been abandoned by previous owners, hence she's a hunter when she can be bothered!

Very affectionate and a real character, and tolerates our 8 year-old happily too.

Here she is the day we got her looking a bit annoyed!

He has not been the same till we moved house, and he couldn't catch as many mice...

This was Puss, she just turned up one day and never left and as you can see, made herself at home quite comfortably, we tried to find her owners but from the way she tended to tear vets and people she didn't like to pieces, perhaps they were keeping quiet ! .Unfortunately now chasing mice in the sky.....

Her replacement from our local cat's home is another thing altogether, a real home cat, chatty, loving and the nicest cat I've ever had as a companion. We very nearly lost her lately due to suffering from inflammatory bowel disease but after three months treatment and an empty wallet, I'm pleased to say she is back on form....

    Show us your Cats!

Big animal fans in our house. Here are our two rescue cats....

This is Boy. Big old moggie. Has a lot of Bengal in him and so is very vocal. He sees no good reason why everyone else should be asleep at 2am, and so starts yelling at the top of his lungs. We've had him over a year now and he's woken us up pretty much every night - it's been tough going. He's hard not to love though.

    The Paws of Ecstasy:

And here's Vasha - she's a turbo-cute little shortarse. Apart from dragging her bum occasionally on our white bathroom rugs (because she likes the feeling - she has no gland or other issues back there), she's been absolutely no trouble.

Our Smokie, He came from a rescue centre, there was around 20 more cats in the room with him, He was bigger than all of them but when food was brought in, He sat back and let all the others go first!! He's the same with our Daisy too!!

He's supposed to be a Nowegian Forrest cat but I think he's only partly so as I'm sure they grow much bigger than him, He is a metre long when he lays out on the floor!!

This is Daisy! She came from a home where she would rather stay outside, She hates men- All men! I think the last owners boyfriend used to abuse her and so she stayed away!!

We've had her for around two years and is only now letting me stroke her!!

Suki is a 10-ish year-old ex rescue cat. Very small, but certainly the friendliest we've owned (but only to immediate family). Costs a fortune as has an allergy which erupts like clockwork every August and lasts until the winter - £80 each month at the vet for anti-biotics and steroids!!

    Worth every penny!

In August 2014 I had to have my beloved pooch of 14 years put down.

The absence of a dog in my garden and a dog flap on my kitchen door resulted in the odd visit from a neighbour's cats.

To cut a long story short they moved, went quickly and left Bam Bam - apparently 13-14 years old. I've always struggled to understand how somebody could have a pet for that long only to leave her

She's become very much part of the family.

Then another cat started appearing and in due course I left food for her. I tracked down where she lived - in a den she had made behind my house. After 6 months I eventually gained her trust (initially she hissed at me when I put food down and wouldn't come near me.

She now lives in my heated shed and is the friendliest cat you'l ever meet - with me, she can't stand anyone else. I checked she wasn't chipped and put notices around to check she didn't belong to anybody although was confident she didn't given her previous living arrangements. She's been given the name of BaBu and from being a skinny fierce lady is now again part of the family.

And finally - the latest recruit. Again a visitor to my garden. She was chipped and having spoken to the original owner (who gave her away earlier this year) I then found the 'current' owner (mad old dear) who wasn't that keen on her return and said she was probably going to just replace her. She only popped in for food to start with and then eventually I got her trust and she's been living in the house for the last few weeks. Her previous name was 'Bettie' so we have kept that. Not sure if she's an exotic or a british short hair. She's 4 years old, little and a very friendly girl - very amusing!

So from a dog owner for the last 14 years I have acquired 3 cats in just over a year!

First off is Dita, she's a Russian Blue that loves men and not too keen on women. She's the softy of the house, really sweet natured but usually picked on by my other cat and then gets to squawking.

Next is Bettie, the bipolar ruler of the house; very cuddly and affectionate with the softest fur of any cat or being a big bully and crapping everywhere. She's also a Russian Blue.

Both together in peace with Dita on the left and Bettie the right, they can confuse the hell out of visitors looking very similar.

Have to say though, Bootsy's "Bettie" is a wee cracker.

Very unusual look about her...defo some Exotic or American Shorthair in there somewhere, but her ears are too big and pointy for those breeds. Would be interesting to know exactly whats in there.

Thanks, yes she is a funny little thing. Given the previous owners I doubt she was bought as anything special - a bit of a mix no doubt. Very little for her age and incredibly affectionate

    No, he's a cat, not a bloody dinosaur...... :D

He is indeed and the extra digit gives him massive paws. Currently in cat prison until Monday while we are the inlaws, the poor sod.

    Haha, thought so. Cute cat!
They always remind me of Chameleons somehow. Friends have two (Polydactyl cats not chameleons)
