    Squale GMT

Hi. 1st post here. Long time lurker but signed up recently.

I'm sure some of you are familiar with the Squale 1545 series.

I am particularly interested in the GMT versions (the batman in particular) http://www.squalewatches.com/Squale_...p/1545-hor.htm

Does anyone know where I can purchase one of these?

squalewatches.com only ship to North America it seems.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Unfortunately they don't carry any of the 1545 series.

Welcome to the forum. That Squale looks just like an offering from a well known Swiss company, common as muck! ;-) For a little more cash you could join a much more exclusive club....... http://www.timefactors.com/dreadnought.htm

Hmmm, not bad. Although not worth double the money in my opinion.

I actually meant to say in the original post that my preference would be to buy from an EU member state so as to avoid import duty but after some further research it seems the 1545 series are only available in US and Asian markets.

Cheers for that but I actually already own an O1PB & an O1B already so I have my fill of Steinharts. Quality can be a bit iffy with Steinhart as well.

Another member directed me to wristsolution.com which seems to stock them. They're also in Malaysia but I'll be in Thailand next month so I might get one shipped to me there.

But that will still incur import VAT on arrival in the UK? I'll be honest, I didn't go into the T&Cs

Yes. There is no legal way around the VAT.

US re-shippers are just handy for companies that won't ship outside the USA.

Note that this will also incur a VAT liability as Switzerland is not in the EC. Whether or not it gets picked up by HMC on it's way through to you is another matter and depends upon how they send it, but in my experience nearly all the American stuff comes via one of the courier services and they always get declared to HMC.

Cheers but none of those dealers stock the 1545 series.

There is no way around it other than a trip to Switzerland
