Military looking watch from Patek Philippe

Any one after a military looking watch from PP?

If the dial said Hamilton probably £2k, but with PP on it a bargain at $40k.

I like that apart from the fauxtina lume which still makes me cringe a bit.
The fauxtina dial I think looks good though.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I have feeling this will become a classic.

I have seen many PP watches that look ordinary or even boring and if any other name was on the dial no one would give them a second look, but the name on dial, similar to Rolex seems to give grown men an erection.

That's a good tip for later tonight. Thanks.

Tag Heuer must be scratching their heads. They bring out the autavia first Longines copy it, then Montblanc now Patek.

I like the idea of it, a military watch from PP. Not sure about the execution with this one though...the texture of the dial and the small crown are a bit meh.

Seeing as the article linked in the OP is dated 1st April I did check on PP's website to confirm its existence...

Ignoring the fact it's not exactly within my financial grasp I actually really like it. Not sure it's my style however it's a fine looking thing.

It’s nice enough though a bit random and probably a few years late on the vintage fauxtina trend. I imagine the buyers of these will be seriously wealthy and for the looks and novelty rather than giving it too much thought.

With a PP you have to think of the inside as well as the outside.

99% of the people who own a PP have no idea and no interest in what's inside - they have the 'piece' and that is all that matters.

The faux patina is strong on this one. Isn’t distinctive enough for me. If it didn’t say Patek I wouldn’t have batted

    Bit of a sweeping statement.

You could walk the streets all day and no one would notice it as it just blends it.

Completely agree with the OP - this years releases from Patek are particularly underwhelming. The faux dial patina and syringe hands make them more like a Patek homage than a Patek. For that kind of money the quality and design of the exterior needs to match that of the interior, and these, as a suite of releases are a complete fail from my perspective, particularly when compared with the elegance of the 6119 grand as pointed out above.

Personally I think it's amazing. I like my 'g10' style watches (oft wear my Smith) and see this is as a 'pinnacle' piece for the style.

Military looking watch from Patek Philippe

I like the way the proportions of the watch are put together.
