I didn't like the marketing photos Rolex published, but after seeing it in real life the "normal" DSSD looked dull.
Love it! And love the pics!
Sorry guys!
Nice images, I really like the Deep blue DSSD, but struggle with the hype created by the grey market. Dealers are asking at least £1k over list price. I phoned an AD in Liverpool and for a 20% deposit they promised delivery in 12 weeks at list price.
The ADs are supposedly asking £8,250.00 (the RRP when I enquired), there are several dealers on-line asking £9,250.00 to £9,500.00.
If you are considering buying one of these, go and talk to your local AD - don't be ripped off by grey dealers trying to create hype by claiming how difficult these are to obtain.
nice pics. really like mine and if they ever offer a crystal with AR coating it will be a keeper for sure.
I think one thing the macro shots illustrate is that Rolex machining is so precise and wonderful.
One can try doing the same with lesser watches and the difference is obvious. The dial, hands everything is perfectly finished. Ofcourse, one hears stories off and on about a speck of dust or a marginal misalignment but those are exceptions rather than the rule.
And I just thought it was a bulk food cash and carry.
Great photos. I really do think it's a beautiful watch. I too was quoted ridiculous delivery times in the UK but ended up buying one in San Francisco.
Perfect pictures! I love this watch ..
Me, my beloved wife and my DeepSea :)
Great photos Raj, thanks. Since I got mine last week it's barely left my wrist.
As mentioned above, the press pictures did it no justice but there's something so different about it for a Rolex; they don't make 'these sorts of watches' and it really is quite special because of that.
Without looking to cause aggro, I find Rolex generally a little bit boring and obvious. The last three modern Rolex I had were the blue YM, a Hulk and a black DSSD as they seemed to offer something more. All three were sold and the only regret was the Hulk so I'm getting another.
Will both the Hulk and Deeplblue DSSD survive together? Hard to say but I believe they are different enough from each other. And of the 'type' (3-handed steel sports); Omegas, Breitlings, Blancpains, VCs, I've tried them all. Keep coming back to Rolex, the pictures above help show why.
