For Me? Nothing
I know a reasonable bit about their history, but their watches have never interested me.
Just not my taste.
Not bad, not good, just not for me.

I had an 0048 with which I had a torrid love affair - smaller size made it wearable, but the spark did die out and off she was traded in part ex for a JLC. Will have another, but sandwich dial this time.

Soon to purchase a Rubber B for
Very true but it's a bit odd when it's a watch that's sold as being worn by Italian navy divers and the Egyptian navy. It's the same as them being generally on a leather strap. For the most part other brands that have a particular history at least try to give a nod to their origins.
True, but I guess we have to accept that they are a brand, not just one watch.

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
Titanium & Tobacco Dials
arnold schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone, Italian, responsible for larger watch fad, overpriced
That being said, their 40mm line up is growing on me.

12 - 3 - 6 - 9 sandwich dial: simple, elegant, beautiful.
OTT and unattractive, largely.
Arguments. :-)
The first thing I think? UGLY Sorry to the Paneraista!
A sandwich!
Pam233, on the top of my wtb list. I like contemporary look and clear dials. 47 mm is too big for me.
Also servicing scares me!

The original Panerai's were build using the Rolex Cal 618 movements before graduating to Angelus SF240 movement (yes, they were using 8 day movements in their watches in the 1960's). They also used the Angelus 215 movement.
Please do not confused the modern day Panerai (owned by Richmont) with the original Italian company from Florence. Completely different companies - although very similar designs.
Whoever does not know how to hit the nail on the head should be asked not to hit it at all.

Firenza.
I've got 2 and so has my wife.
I like them. Not all, not even most. But I am a big fan of some of their models.
I also don't care about what others think of me for wearing them.
Numbers... A seemingly impenetrable collection of numbers that I can't quite figure out. Might get one before a sub, but only once I can figure what the hell is what :)
And website that makes my iPad crash so can't go there to figure it out!
Here you go try this...

First thing I think of (I have one)
How can someone lost the bridge and only found out returned home
Panerai, JLC, IWC - same parent company; forum threads about servicing / faults.
Cartier are part of Richemont too, but they seem to do better with the only adverse comments being exorbitant prices for parts.
Perhaps satisfied owners should post success stories with servicing - the perception is negative based upon the posts.
Honestly?
1.expensive
2.Sylvester Stallone
3. Paneristi
4. Nazi collaborators riding mini submarines
5. Executive desk toys celebrating the above
Not a good combo really.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
nice pic jocke.
The Radiomir GMT Alarm that was in WoS in Mcr a few years ago and the saleswoman wouldn't sell it me!! It was a year old, mint and priced @£4200 from £8k. I was going to trade a steel Datejust against the Panerai but she offered me a stupid price as my Rolex was 'damaged'. It had a new crystal and service c/o Rolex and incl the repair docket. Never went back to WoS again and I'd had some lovely s/h pieces from them
Diamonds?
A "mint" PAM 131, yours for £32.5K on Chrono24.
This monstrosity aside, I'm liking them more and more.
