Bought a Hamilton khaki field the other day, upon closer inspection I noticed the date window is very ragged around one side, quite visible to the naked eye.
I purchased it from Spain as I got a good price, should I contact them and return the watch, hassle and cost to me also they don't speak very good English (my Spanish is non existent).Should I send it to Hamilton(swatch group) for repair, just want it back in the same condition as sent as have only worn it once.
Has anyone had good or bad experience with the Hamilton repair centre?
Thanks.
I would suggest doing both, contact the seller to see if they will resolve the issue and contact Hamilton and ask how much a repair would be.
They are part of the Swatch group and are in the lower/mid price bracket depending on what you have. I know speaking to Longines they are pretty easy to deal with so I expect Hamilton to be the same.
Contacted Swatch group today, they're going to send me a prepaid envelope for me to send it back. The watch has a clear quality issue so will be done under warranty, I think it would have been too much hassle trying to explain the fault to the Spanish AD.
I'll take a few photos before I post it.
Cheers.
Update: Well I received my watch back today, great they must have replaced the dial so no ragged date window now, Result?
Not quite, it came back with metal swarf on the dial pretty miffed so I will be contacting them tomorrow and back it goes.
Shame you're having problems with yours, I love my Khaki Field.
