A friend of mine showed me a chopard Mille Miglia he had been offered for £1400. Not my taste, some sort of anniversary model chrono with 2 small windows showing digital date and month I think. The first thing that drew my attention was that it was in a slip case in rectangular flat outer box not the usual bells and whistles large cube type.
What then jumped out at me was the small model label on the box with the spelling MILE MIGLIA and a name underneath which is sounds like some sort of holiday resort in the Indian Ocean
Unless I'm wrong Mille has always been spelled with 2 LL's. I cannot imagine Chopard getting their spelling wrong.
I've told him to walk away from it so I've either saved him a fortune or he's missed a watch he quite fancied
That's it really
Chopard are the principal sponsor of the Mille Miglia, so chances are they would know how it's spelt.
To the OP: of course Mille is spelt with the double l in Italian, if you remove an l you end up with a word that has absolutely no meaning in my language.
Another thread about a fake without even a couple of photo's, and your point is/was?

Sharm el Sheik, Indian Ocean........nice places where to buy luxury watches!
Thanks folks. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't some variation on the "Mille" word. Thanks to those of you posting helpful comments.
