Thread: Assymetrical Chronographs in formation!

    Assymetrical Chronographs in formation!

Seems a bit quiet on BMW at the moment, so thought a fly past by issued Assymetrically cased chronographs may liven things up! feel free to join in!

Can anyone spot the odd one out and why?

Very nice! Really liking the white dialed Lemania

Is the odd one out one of the Precista's (PRS-5 Re-issue)??

Seems too obvious CBP, I'm going for the one without lume.

    Correct!

Correct, the White dialed single button chronograph is the odd one out, not just because it has a white dial, but because it is non-luminous, and was issued to the Royal Navy for use on nuclear submarines, rather than all others intended for pilot or navigator use. The use of non-luminous material on the subs, is so it wouldn't affect radiaton monitoring.

    Thanks for playing.

    It is now!

Although I didn't know why it was non-luminous, so I appreciate the historical explanation. It's also a very attractive looking watch in my book.

Thanks for the interesting diversion, Matthew

    Assymetrical Chronographs in formation!

I've got a non-lune 2nd generation Seiko chrono which is a beauty as it's pure monochrome. It's not an issued one unfortunately. I understood that they were submariners watches also.

    Edit: gorgeous collection BTW.

Also? The one next to the white faced Lemania - only one with spring (not solid) bars fitted?

I keep coming back to this, what a great line up. Is there anything missing from this collection?

Ah yes, now you mention it.

But I was wondering if there are any asymetrical-cased chronos produced by other makers that are not represented here? All the ones I'm familiar with are here, but a serious collector like Explorer1 might know of others?

I've assumed that most of these are 'issued' watches, so it would be fascinating to see an 'inverted' fly-past if that's possible so we can see the markings?

    Thanks a lot for sharing.
