I am coming to realise that 38.5/39mm watches are the perfect size for my wrist, however there don't seem to be so many about these days.
So I wondered if the good folk of TZ-UK might know about some watches that aren't on my radar. I know of the following:
Omega Aqua Terra
Rolex Explorer 214270
Sinn 356 and 556
JLC master calendar & Geophysic
Speedbird iii
MK ii Kingston
Are there any other nice examples that I have missed? Many of those listed above are on the pricey side so it would be good to hear of more budget options.

I have to agree. It's about the best size to my 6,75'" wrist too and actually a great idea to know what models are out there.
Having said that I don't have many in that diameter.
My only one falls into budget options. Junkers Ju-52 chrono with 3133 inside.
First Omega in Space mentioned above is a good call. Wears noticeably smaller than a regular Professional and sits really nicely on the wrist.
My wrist is about 18cms. "Usually" I like my watches at 42mm or 44mm..but I liked the look of this one so much.......I took a bit of a punt as I "thought" it would wear too small.(39mm) But I think it looks great. A keeper for sure!

Personally I find my Archimede Pilot and Citizen Nighthawk (both on non-bracelet straps) sit nicely on my 6.5" wrist

It's just funny that the Aqua-Terra was initially a 38mm watch (other sizes are available), but now it's 39mm - go Omega ;)

Well, there are other factors as well. Lug width, thickness, bezel or not, dial size, polished or brushed etc.
i do however agree that 39mm usually is a great size. Tried on a master calendar at the airport, and it fit perfectly.
Grand seiko have a few at 39mm

The Nomos Orion range is all 39mm, plus a few other models
Not budget but a 39mm Omega Railmaster is rather nice, if you can find one.

If the watch has a diver's type outer bezel, making the dial smaller, then 39mm is a good size. For watches that are all dial, like the Nomos Orion for example, then 39mm may actually be too much. I prefer the 35mm Orion to he 38mm on my 7 inch wrist.
As Yonsson pointed out, there are other factors to consider. Regardless of dial size, if the lugs come close to the edge of your wrists, or actually extend beyond the edge of the wrist, then the watch is too big IMO.
I like the Rolex Explorer II 16570 very much, just the right size for me:

However the GMT Master II is also a very good one, but a bit larger on the wrist.
A Sub 14060 is also an option. Slightly larger than what you're stating but not a big watch by any stretch. It also has a very slender profile so sits low, due to no date complication in the movement.
+1 wears a bit bigger than 39 though.You have forgotten the best of them all....
Daytona is about 39mm too.

39mm is perfect for me too. How about the new Oyster 114300?
I've got one of those pilots in bronze. My wrist is also 6.5".
Too sweeping a statement, I think, as (as others have said) one watch design in 39mm will look good and another tiny.
That said, one of my favourites is my Longines Hydroconquest and (not having an inferiority complex) I can live with it being 2mm smaller than the bigger one!

Anything from 36-40mm works for me. I think the difference between the 39 and the 40 mm is very small and they are many more options in the 40mm size, but that is the subject of the tread.
I think that some of the watches posted here are 40mm. Also, the Strela mentioned is 38mm, if I'm not mistaken, but still a very beautiful looking watch.
This was my first automatic watch and the one that was MEANT to finish my watch obsession, but probably just fueled it more! But I think I hit it perfect the first time up.
I'd say anything between 34-40mm is the best on me, but 39mm is basically perfect.
Bit long in the lugs maybe but the 29B is becoming the watch I strap on a fair bit.

Echoing other posters; here are three of my favourite 39mm (ish) watches. They look big in the pics, but wear very well on my 6.5inch wrist. Loving the Geophysic too! I can just stretch up the the 40mm Sub, but it doesn't quite hit my sweet spot as these do (size and fit wise).

Perfect size for me too ;-). The 38.5mm omega AT is just right.
A lot of Grand Seikos are around that size, including some JDM Quartz models at 38ish I think, while the standard ones are 37mm.
For a real budget option, the old version of the UHR datejust clone was 38mm and wore very well.
The speedmaster automatic aka reduced is in the right range, and good value for a speedmaster.
Rolex have just released the 39mm Oyster Perpetual, the grey one looks like one of their best looking watches in years, though it's yet to appear in shops so we'll have to see how the size actually wears.
This (sold some time ago) old style AT was 39.2mm, though for me personally it was slightly oversized and the newer 38.5mm wears better.
Then there's this one, 37mm and wearing larger due to the crown guards and integrated bracelet. Not exactly budget but good value for what it is. The new one is just too big for me.
Longines Conquest on my 7.5" wrist is perfect,nothing wrong with watches below the current over sized trend at all,it's all in your mind and what you have become used to wearing.
The classic elegance of the Conquest is perfect IMO.

Revue Thommen Airspeed Classic Titanium Chrono - Auto (Lemania 5100) on left is 38.5mm; quartz version on right is 37.5mm - both low profile, very wearable and very legible.

I was going to suggest checking this out. It's listed at 40mm but I've seen people swearing that it measures a fraction under that.
