Small guy died on Thurs - buried him today.

Our sweet cat was hit and killed by a speeding car up our residential street on Thursday - I feel like putting up a big sign on the road saying - "Thanks, you killed out cat - next time it could be a child" - It's the only road around here without speed bumps - I guess the council is waiting until someone dies before they do something - anyway they should put up a speed camera - they'd make a load of money.

So I buried the little guy this morning. He was so sweet and he used to follow around like a dog, but also tore up the side of trees and around the garden like a mad firball. Also loved to be tickled on his tummy and around the ears. So - no more summers or winters for him - he only saw one of each in his very short life - sadly he was only 1 years old on Wednesday. He'll be missed.

    R.I.P Pepe

Our kids cat got clipped by a car recently too.

Thankfully survived, after having a big op and pins put in its hind leg!!

I know how you must feel, I'm not ashamed to say I cried when our lovely cat was killed by a car. We now have 6 cats and never bought one, they just find us.

Tell me about it. I lost my cat last August, through illness aged 11 and I blabbed like a child. In mitigation Dad was going through end of life at the same time.......

Worse though was I had to take Dad's dog to the vets for the last time three months before, went with Mum and I decided I had to be strong for her. Massive fail, I was a puddle on the vet's floor........

I did have a happy ending though. A couple of months after losing Dad a couple of beautiful stray kittens walked into my life and made my home their home!

I have heard more than once, that is what cats do - always tragic when a pet is taken away, whatever the circumstances

    RIP, taken far too early.

I can feel with you. We lost a tabby in January, again to a speeding driver (right next to a school!) he would have been 3 in the February.

    Kids were distraught,

Collected from the local vet a few days later, after some kind person took him in - rather than leave him in the road gutter.

Driver still probably speeding about now, totally oblivious.....

Very sad news. RIP little fella.

We also have a "ginger ninja", mad bugger but very affectionate. Have lost 2 cats previously on our main road but with this little chap I started my Harley up when he was young and curious about the world roadside and he's never ventured there since (touch wood!).

Sorry for your loss. Having not so long ago lost a young cat to illness, I have an understanding of how upsetting it is.

That's totally shit, so sorry for you and the family.

I hate people that speed around residential areas with no thought for others.

    RIP Pepe

Sorry about your loss. Our cat Tom was hit by a car when only 9 months old. He survived after a huge operation with pins in his hip and leg. His beautiful sister Dotty who we got at the same time died from a horrendous disease called FIP just weeks earlier so we were emotional wrecks for a while. Expressing strong emotions for a loved pet is to be encouraged in my world.

very sorry to read this, such a beautiful cat with a lot of character. I lost a ginger cat the same way just over a year ago, on a fairly quiet narrow road, and still get upset when I think of her..
    keep your chin up Martyn,
