No - it's actually bang on, I've always been puzzled on the 'return to normal' process; who did it, why, whether the watches were actually used in the way that is commonly accepted etc.
My understanding (likely wrong) is that its not a mechanical change, they just advanced the rate of the watch to match Sideral time. They then slowed the rate down when they were sold off. I have a standard first dial version SG1550 and its one of my absolute favourite watches. They wear so well, and are so easy to read.
